The tech is definitely there. You do need additional camera and sensors though. I guess it is just another extra item to cover under warranty to Ford. So they don't want to bother. Tesla love those gimmicks to try to make them look Techy. I just use a Garmin Mini with Dongar connector to the mirror. Honestly, I don't even need parking mode. All I care about is the ambiguous big collisions at intersections that is hard to prove who is at fault without video replay. The other drive will straight out lie. The payout is usually tens of thousands or worse if body injury is involved. Small parking lot bumper scratch is not the end of the world.

Since we live in 2023, ideal solution will be to have a dashcam, which you can manage from your phone remotely. Is there anything like this that I can buy and it works with MME? So I can use my phone to access past dashcam events etc? Does camera get power when MME is parked?
Also interested in knowing.

I have also been wondering why the vision from the plethora of cameras aren't accessible to the owner  ....given Tesla's wonderful array of cameras and accessibility. Here is Aus, news media recently reported that a Tesla owner was able to identify an old couple who keyed her car - brilliant vison of them was played to the court.
When installing my FITCAMX dash-cam, I noticed that there is even an inward facing camera beside the rear vision mirror - what for? Anyone know who this vison is available to...?...and for what purpose..?

You can always disable a software feature and buy your own dashcam, if you want. But not having this SW is a kind of a lost opportunity. Unless MME's HW is assembled such a way, that it is not possible.
Try recording the camera views again while parked. Have someone at a distance approach the car from the front, back, both sides, and on all diagonals. Record nothing more than what the display shows you. That image quality is going to be too poor to properly identify any smash and grab thief or a door basher who drives away.

1. Tesla’s cameras are optimized for dash cam type use. Ford’s are not. It goes beyond the Mach-e.
2. That’s not an inward facing camera.

Has anyone tried to enable turn signal cameras on these cars before? With 2023 or newer IPMA software, this works on the F150's and Lightnings, but only while towing.

And then what happens? Cops actually take a video and go run it through some database (that actually has everyone in it?) and goes and arrest them? Demands they pay for damages?

Feel like 99% of crimes like that end in nothing happening even if you have evidence.

It seems that the Aussie Cops did take action, & the perpetrators were identified, charged, convicted, & ordered to pay compensation.
Maybe it’s different in the USA..?…

Not an inward camera....?.....I hope you're right. ?
What would it be?
It’s a light sensor for the auto-dimming rear view mirror. ??

This. Plus there is the motion sensors up in the overhead by the reading lights. The only thing resembling an inward facing camera is the infrared camera which functions as the eye nanny as part or the BlueCruise system right in front of the steering wheel.

It depends on where you are in the USA. If you are in a major metropolitan area, the police are too overworked to go after vandals and petty thieves. They will take a report and send you on your way. In many rural areas, the police will still arrest vandals and petty thieves. ?‍♂?

LOL the dealer gave me a load of stuff to sign including a notice that my new car has an eyeball nanny ( the notice called it an interior camera). It looks weird there. I was used to it not being there in my 2021. I mean, I will get used to seeing it, but it’s a huge wart on the steering column. ??

Perspective. I haven’t had an issue with its existence on my 2021.
