Yesterday I got on the NJ Turnpike. My destination was 51 miles away, the SOC was 71% and the guess-o-meter gave me 161 miles of range. In the area there are several charging places within a few miles and along the route I know of 2 charging stations (and I'm sure there are many more). Yet twice within a couple of miles I got a message to the effect "No charging station within your range, find a place to charge soon" (don't recall the exact wording). WTF ?!
Luckily I could laugh it off an ignore it, but if I had been in an unknown area I would have gotten concerned and would have pulled over to check one of the apps on my phone.
Anyone else ever got this system hallucination ? We can't let ChatGPT have all the fun.
My best guess is that the system lost contact temporarily with the charging stations db and therefore assumed that there were none in the known universe, everything else of the navigation system was working fine.

I wonder if that was a random system glitch as well. I got the same message here in the SF bay area yesterday too. Popped up within a few miles of me being home, at 85% battery charge.

I’ve seen this on a rare occasion or three in the 4 years I’ve owned the car. For me it usually occurred in areas with poor to no cell coverage while also experiencing a probable gps issue (native nav showing the car in a wrong location). Conclusive? Not at all.

GPS seemed fine, the car was positioned in the correct location on the nav.

I get that message fairly often as I am approaching my cabin in the mountains with 2-3% charge remaining, when the last publicly available charge location was 6 miles back (a single cable 50 kW ChargePoint at a bar). Even though my home’s location is memorized as having a charger, the system doesn’t seem to include my own charger as an available charge location. I’ve not ever had the warning pop up when it is not readily explainable.

I got the message outside of Sutherlin Oregon on Friday, which has a fast charger. I had 60 percent in the car and realized it was a glitch. Thanks for reaffirming!

I got that message this past Friday as well. I had plenty of battery left and was on my 1.5 mile commute home from work. Weird.

Mine was Friday afternoon (about 2pm EDT) as well. Guess it was a system-wide glitch.

I have experienced this exactly the same way -- on the NJTP. I know where to find fast EA chargers within a couple of miles of the highway so I map specifically to them rather than looking for anything nearby. It's possible the search filters aren't accurately-- in other locations I've reset the filter & found what I knew would be there.
