Viewing Navigation Map to find charging station

I am very new to the Mach-E having bought on this year. Twice, I was trying to find charging stations along my route...once as a passenger and once while driving, but I kept getting the same message on the screen "For Your Safety, some features have been disabled while your vehicle is in motion".

Is there a setting to turn this off so you can check for charging stations while in motion (either as the driver or the passenger). I have been unable to find it if there is. It seems ludicrous to have to stop in order to check.

Any guidance is appreciated.

You can search for chargers while driving. Tap search bar. You get a drop down menu that has “chargers” as a choice. Tap that and you get a list and a map. You can filter for high speed by tapping the 3 lightning bolt symbol at the top of the list. It should let you scroll down one time before it locks you out.

The Public Charging app version 1 will only work when parked. There is a change coming that will unlock it while driving.

I thought that function was deactivated while vehicle is moving? I don't think I've ever actually tried it just assumed it was like the menu function on the media page is disabled while driving.

No, the charger menu in the nav works while driving. You just can't type. It will show you the nearest chargers only.

And the Public Charging app works while driving now (they updated that in an OTA).

The late 2024 model didn’t come with that new Public Charging App version. I still don’t have the update to use it while driving.

My experience so far has been that the message on the display that I posted in my original message pops up on the display when you select public charging from the display.

And thanks for the information. On a trip this afternoon, I was able to get a listing of the charging stations along a route we will be taking in the next week or two. Much appreciated.
