Voice call Bluetooth handoff between CarPlay and headset

I use Bluetooth earbuds with my iPhone. When I get in my car with CarPlay, everything (music, navigation alerts, etc) works fine through sync, except when I get a call. The call audio does not come through CarPlay. The caller can hear me but I can’t hear them.

These are not apple brand Bluetooth earbuds. I have to manually go in and disconnect my Bluetooth headset whenever I get in the car.

is there an automatic way to setup if connected to CarPlay, all audio, including phone audio goes through CarPlay?
