2023 Mach-E Premium and 2021 F-150 Tremor

Wife just traded her Maverick in for a showroom floor Mach-E Premium RWD. With a 110 mile round trip work commute to Austin 3x a week the math was pretty compelling. My only initial complaint is the inadequate contact surface with these stock 225s. I know I can go 24t/50/19 with the stock wheels but a bit wider won’t be a bad thing and there are some nice options that will fit a 7” wheel. Something grippy that’ll do well in the rain is what we’re looking for. The other ride is a 2021 F-150 Tremor all teched out with BlueCruise and can deal with the few days of snow and ice we get each year.

I’m just wondering, will 255/50/19 clear the wheel wells at full turn without issue? If so, I’ll probably have a set of performance tires installed this weekend.

Thanks in advance.

They should fit, however a 245/50/19 is a better choice for the factory wheels. These tires have a higher load rating so lower the pressure to 36psi for a 105 load range

Wow sounds tempting. Is that on the stock 20 inch GT wheels? I find the 245s are too narrow. Wondering if it give it a balloon/muffin type look or are the sidewalls straight up and down?

I had 245/50/19 on the factory premium wheels and yes they muffin top. Based on what I saw a 8" rim would be ideal for the 245/50/19. My current setup is 255/45/20 on 8.5" rims and that seems ideal.

Hmm. I will consider this going forward. I only have the 8"wide GT wheels I got for free for my AWD Ext Batt California Route 1 trim. Lucky for me, someone swapped me GT wheels for Cali RT 1 Wheels. It was a huge improvement over those Frisbees my car came with, but 245s still just don't provide that hunkered down mustang look I would like. Seems 8.5" wheel width is the minimum I should consider. Thanks!

Here is a picture of the 255/45/20 on my previous car a premium. The 255 would work on a 8" if it were an all season.

In the picture are 20x8.5 +45 and 255/45/20 summer only tires. Summer only tend to have a wider tread width than a all season

Savani Flow Forms, 20x9s. I wanted 275s bit the guy at the shop told me that would be pushing it and I would likely get some rub. Best pic I could get, it's dark out.

Yeah, I've think you can do it with a 9.5, but either way you would likely get rub on max cornering
on my 64 1/2 275/35/18 on 9.5" rims they muffin top big time.

275/40/20 will rub a little on a MME but only on full lock turning, Like a u turn. You can put 315/35/20 on the back but need to modify the shock mount.

Yeah, I didn't want to do any modifications. If I wanted to mod it I definitely wouldn't stop at 275s. I would aim closer to 300s.

Best safe bet for no rub is front 245/45/20 20x8.5 +45 and in the back 20x10 +47 275/40/20 those sizes match in height.

They will look staggered because the back rims stick out 17mm more but both will be within the wheel wells
