Understood. My former vehicle did not have this issue howeveryou mention that other wireless chargers don’t have the heat problem. I will point out that wireless charging at home isn’t using Apple CarPlay (very intensive on the WiFi radio, the Bluetooth radio, the GPS radio and perhaps keeping the screen on while trying to force more power to the battery) which causes a ton of heat.
As a Pokémon Go player, our phones used to overheat because of screen brightness, high CPU load, and GPS use while trying to keep the phone charged with a power bank. It’s all about how intense the usage is, and wireless CarPlay is pretty intense usage.
