2) I had a door dent and a hood dent. The PDR person had no problem with the door but said he couldn't do the hood because it's aluminum.
I had a dent in my hood/bonnet on the front edge and a company called Dentless drove to my house, looked at the dent said that they would have a go but couldn't guarantee getting it out completely because of the double skin where the dent was. He quoted ÂŁ90 and I said when are you going to do it and he said, Now. He apologised when finished as he couldn't get it 100% out but I was pleased as punch as I could not find the dent at all.

Please, keep us in the loop. I'm very interested to know if the issue is corrosion related, or if it's just how the paint cured in that area. Good luck!

Well I have two quotes from reputable shops. The reality is all 4 doors have to be painted which means so do the front and rear quarter panels. It’s a big job and somewhere between $10k and $16k. If it wasn’t going to get worse I wouldn’t touch it. Maybe I should wait and watch. Pending ford approval now.

Yikes those are big dollar amounts. Did you obtain your own quotes or did the dealer do that for you? Any ideas on estimated turn around time?

When getting my car washed, we discovered small vein-like protrusions from the paint under with a windows. Sadly, the Ford dealer (and the body shop) have confirmed the aluminum doors are corroding. It will only get worse and the solution is to replace all 4 doors.

Anyone else heard of this?

The update here is that ford approved the repairs but are insisting that I use a Ford certified body shop and apparently means the only option in my area is Autonation’s autobody. Based on sheer reputation, there is no way I am having them touch the car. I am working with Ford to find a solution and would rather leave the car unfixed and take my chances than be stuck with a car that was poorly painted. Sadly it seems paints the doors also requires painting all the quarter panels, which means you are practically painting the entire car.

It’s still with the collision shop (waiting for new doors). It’s been almost a month.

Was there any reason why they would hold your car while waiting for the doors? Couldn't it have been arranged for you to drop off the car when the doors were delivered?
