Back in February I posted about a company called Welly Diecast that was making a 1:34 scale Mach-E. It took a while, but the little car is finally available... from Poland.
I found this on eBay last month and it arrived over the weekend. It only comes in silver or red and only the doors and wheels move, but it's designed for children as young as 3 (according to the box) so my expectations weren't super high.
Despite low expectations, it looks really good for the $20.50 price! I'm guessing this car will eventually appear on those toy car racks you see at convenience stores and gas stations. They're the right size and the right price for that kind of thing.
Diecast collectors will, I think, enjoy having this li'l GT parked between your OttoMobile 1:18 and GreenLight 1:64 cars.
Here are a bunch of detailed photos (some with commentary) of the car and its packaging. Please note that the car itself is only 4" long.
A NOTE REGARDING COLOR AND IMAGE COMPRESSION:
The color in these photos doesn't do justice to the almost Rapid Red paint job. This is partly due to heavy image compression and partly due to me not noticing the difference until I uploaded them.
One thing you'll notice is that the "seams" around the charging port door and elsewhere look silver. It's not quite as noticeable in real life. These closeups magnify small details you won't really see with your eyes. The paint is indeed thinner there, though.
The doors don't open very far.
Decent amount of interior detail!
The windows and paint don't look nearly as bad in real life as they do here.
I had to use flash to be able to see the interior through the roof, which also illuminated the dust on the car.
Look closely at the Mach-E X text and it's clear the two-color print registration was off just a tiiiiiny bit, but it was enough to make this unreadable. That said, it's so small it's unreadable anyway!
The car is secured in the packaging by this plate and a couple screws. It makes for a decent little stand, though, so it won't roll off your desk or display shelf.
No word yet on if the car likes belly rubs.
Now for the packaging, if anyone's curious.
Happy collecting!

Side note: That "Ford Official Licensed Product" hologram sticker is trippy! It legit looks like the Ford logos are about a quarter inch behind the rest of the sticker. ?
