I saw a few threads and comments about the Ford NACS adapter not having a case. I just received my adapter in late June and figured the box it came in was good enough. However I decided to 3D print a 2 piece insert that fits in the box. Printed out of TPU at 10% infill allows it to still be soft and squishy.

Am I the only one who put my Ford adapter naked in a bag with some other charging accessories (J-1772 extension, Telsa Tap, etc) and tossed it in the frunk? The hard shell plastic is durable, and I don't see a reason to protect it from cosmetic scratches?
Why does such a product need a custom case to keep it "safe"? I don't see how it could get damaged unless you drop it onto pavement from a height of several feet (or more).

I put mine in a soft case for a small to mid sized tablet. It has pockets for other stuff. I put the instruction sheet that Ford provided in one of them. The whole thing fits nicely in the driver’s door pocket. ??

Tossed mine in the frunk along with the rest of the miscellaneous stuff. Most logical, since it’s closest to the charge port.

the adapter costs about $200. I try to treat it like it’s worth that much.

Mine just sits in the trunk. On both sides of the trunk there is a small pocket. One has my NACS and the other is my Level 2 Tesla adapter
That's where I've planned to keep mine, if it ever gets here!

I put mine in the lower tray below the phone charger (I don’t think it needs a case). It’s easy for me to grab when I get out. If you’re on a road trip would you bother putting it back in the box after every stop? I think that’s a bit excessive.

I have yet to encounter a NEMA 10-30P receptacle in the wild. Where would you even use the Ford charger outside of your own garage? Since I have a JuiceBox, my Ford charger lays unused since 2021 on a shelf in my basement.
