My dog is riding along on the passenger seat and she pushes my buttons and the one with the red triangle on it. On purpose? Maybe. It is annoying.

So I made this cover.

Here is the file if you want to print one.

It’s great all the problems folks can solve now using 3D printers!

Now there's an idea! now I just need a 3d printer 😆 My car-anxious doggo can't sit still despite harnessing her in. So she's crawling over the center console and pressing buttons. Not an issue when she's small and just wants to be on my lap for comfort but she's fat, heavy and a bit of a distraction to drive on busy roads 🤣
Even worse when she's in my old Scion FRS when she keeps turning traction and stability controls off...lol

For us old guys (86.8) who don't have 3-D Printers but do have a Chihuahua that thinks that is her favorite button, how much if you print an extra one? Would love to buy one.

Check your local library. A lot of them nowadays offer this as a service

There are 3d printing services available online that you can use if you don't have easy access to a 3d printer. I've used https://www.xometry.com/quoting/home/ in the past with good results but it will be more expensive using a service like these.

I went ahead and quoted out the two parts using the link provided by the OP to help give you an idea on cost. This is just one place so you might be able to find it cheaper using a different service.

I generally don't get too hung up on aesthetics however this is kinda ugly (or at least the lighting in your video doesn't do it any favors). As a concept it's most excellent. Can that textured shiny black piece be printed more matte to match the other controls in the car? [I don't do 3D printing, apologize if the answer to that question is obvious).

You are right on. I need to dial in the settings and print this in matte petg. That I don't have right now. Attached in matte black pla at super fine. Black is Prusa, white is sovol. I'm getting closer to a smooth surface.

This was on Prusa mk3S+ and I have a Sovol Sv04 which to my surprise handles fine print better. There are so many variables though. Temp, filament, retraction, speed, nozzle, support, orientation, slicer, and so on...

As a 3D Printing enthusiast, I LOVE THIS. As a dog owner that has had to deal with this.... I can NOT handle riding with a dog in the front passenger seat because they do things like that. I got a pet hammock for the rear seats with mesh inserts for the vents and zip up panels that make ingress/egress easy but keep the door cards and windows protected. It also blocks them from climbing up to the front seat.

If all your dog hits is the hazard button, I'd say you're quite lucky and you should go buy a lotto ticket.

May I ask, why are you printing the body vertically? If you printed it flat, you'd get the nice even texture of whatever printer plate your using and you wouldn't need supports that will have to be pulled/snipped off later. Does not it not print well when it's flat?
