I hope that topic heading gets me a response or two. I leased a new MME a few days ago. My dealer no longer stocks the home chargers that are part of the Power Promise Program. They said I'd receive an email "soon" about getting one.
- How long has it taken lately (Aug, 2025) for you to get their email?
- I assume the email just allows me to order it, right? So how long after you order it till it arrived?
- Is it correct that I can't have QMERIT out to plan and estimate the cost of my install until after I receive the charger?
- How long has it taken lately to get the install done after QMERIT comes out and plans the work?

Finally, I know installations can be tricky, but I also don't want QMERIT to pull any kind of "extra cost reqired" stuff for my install. It will be in an attached garage of a 20-year old suburban house where the electrical box is about 10-15 feet away from where I want the charger installed and the meter is attached to the side of the garage. Seems like that shold be as "standard" as it gets and should not require any special charges. But I don't know anything about electrical work. In situations like mine is the full installation cost usually covered?

I wanted to share some details regarding the installation of my charger for the MME I picked up my MME on May 14th, 2025. The dealer provided the charger at the time of delivery, and about three weeks later, I received an email from QMerit regarding the installation. The installation was successfully completed within the following two weeks.

I bought the car 07/29 and got the qmerit email 08/03. I got the qmerit email a couple days before the coupon code email which finally arrived 08/05.. Charger was out of stock until last Friday. I ordered it that day and it arrives tomorrow. Local installer, assigned by qmerit, wants me to pay $45 for the permit. I guess the power promise doesn’t cover that.

he told me ford gives them $1500 and after telling me how they wanted to run it (drill to the exterior wall, run conduit down across the ground, then back up to where my charger will be and drill another hole to get back into the garage) I politely declined and wired it myself. All I need is for the charger to arrive.

Wow, Qmerit must be psychic, and knew you were going to buy the car! 😜

I think the email is sent within 1-2 business days of them submitting the deal in Ford’s sales system. If there is a delay, it’s probably because they have not yet properly entered the deal as sold, they didn’t apply the correct incentive code, or they have your wrong email address (it must match your FordPass account email address). Some dealers suck and don’t do their paperwork correctly, or in a timely fashion. If you don’t have the email within about a week of buying the car, you need to bug the sales manager, and ensure the deal and incentives were entered properly. Tell them a 5-star review is at risk if you don’t get those codes.

Can I ask who the coupon code comes from. Am I looking for an email from Ford?

Good luck getting the email soon. Charging off 110 line at home off Ford charger takes days. Check for local Level 3 chargers in your area in the meantime.

Explore the forums and you'll see a variety of Power Promise experiences.
My dealer was familiar with the program.

My EVSE installation success using the program in January took 29 days from car delivery to home charging.

There was some extra expense and an eventual divorce from qmerit for reasons.

Stay flexible, stay engaged, get multiple quotes from other electricians.

it was a little stessful in the dead of winter, but haven't given daily driving charging a second thought since.
OOhere's the excruciating details if you want them.

This worries me. Installation is supposed to be free, outside of unusual conditions. Why should I be getting quotes from other electricians? What experience with qmerit caused you to end up having someone else do it?

Answer is in the linked item I posted.
The installer referred to me by qmerit ghosted me. I had a reasonably priced alternative installer (and "free" EVSE hardware from the Power Promise_)...

because permits are supposedly not covered. My out of pocket cost would’ve been $45. I chose to do it myself to ensure that it was done exactly the way I wanted it done.
