So, this is obviously not a deal-breaker issue, but it is something that would be nice to have. I'll explain....

My car has had a few recalls and warranty issues in the last year and I have had to have it brought to the dealer multiple times to address them. What is nice is that the dealer will pick up the car at my home and drive it to the dealership, complete the repair, and drive it back home. A nice service to be sure. What is annoying is that every time someone has taken the car to the dealership they turn off every feature that I use (lane assist, 1-pedal, Unleashed, and adaptive cruise) and don't re-enable them back on when it's brought back.

So, yesterday when I went to get into the car, after a repair, I almost ran into my garage door due to the fact that I'm used to just having 1-pedal on all the time. Thankfully, I was able to hit the brakes before I did any damage to the door/car.

My request would be a way to save the primary driver settings in the menus, so that if someone else is driving the car, they could change settings and you could hit a button in the menus and turn all of those features back on, rather than having to remember all of the settings that you were using every time someone else drives your car.

Critical? Far from it, but it just seems like this would be a nice to have options in the menus.

Anyway, just a thought.

Just setup a user profile then every time someone else uses your vehicle you can select your profile and it will load your saved preferences.

My wife hates 1pd drive and has a different seating preference compared to me so she is user 2 and I am user 1.

If you're not using both keyfobs and have an unused driver profile, you could create a new driver profile for the keyfob you give to the dealership driver.

When they return the car you just switch back to your profile.

Or could this be a viable application for valet mode?

I suspect it is a bit more subtle of a problem. They are going to need the FOB to work on the car and as soon as that FOB is used to start the car, it will be in your settings, and if they change some things it will keep them (interesting enough some settings require you to hold down the profile button to save them like the mirrors, but other don't).

As @E-Mustang suggests on possible solution is another FOB. But if you don't have one to spare what you can do is put a note in the car (so that other than the person you give the car knows what to do) to have them select the profile button at the top right of the main menu and then guest. EDIT: it is also possible to ask them to use an unused profile button, but for the same reason as using another FOB, that might not be available.

I don't believe putting it into valet mode would work because they might need to have full access to fix things.

Thanks for all of the suggestions on this. I'll look at creating another Userprofile tied to a FOB that we don't use all that often and hopefully that'll allow me to keep all my settings intact.

Really appreciate this community!

It would be nice to avoid the work arounds described here. Like a “reload my preferred setup.” Maybe you turn off 1PD for a road trip and you put it in whisper for the assistive driving. It would be nice to get home and say “make it so…” to get back to your baseline settings.

My wife is profile 1. I get profiles 2 and 3: 2 is whisper with two-pedal driving (my wife prefers being a passenger if I’m two-pedal—it’s easier to be smooth), and 3 is one-pedal unbridled.

It’s so handy to have a physical button for switching everything!

So far I haven't had a single reason to take my 2023 back to the dealership since the night I drove away.

And while I understand how the fetch & return service sounds like a convenience, I don't think I could come to grips with someone I don't even know driving away in my GTPE. It's just WAY too tempting in that dang thing, if you know what I mean. 🤣

I think I found another way to do this. If you go into the Profiles and turn off Personal Profiles with the switch then any adjustments will not be saved to the personal profiles unless the person holds down one of the profile buttons.
