I doubt this accessory will work with the Ford app. It is a power opening/closing accessory for the frunk lid (just like the power opening/closing struts our rear hatch has).WOW! Thank you sir!
After using it for a couple of weeks here’s my feedback; It technically is plug-in play because there’s no splicing however, you do need to replace your strut which I show in my video. It’s not difficult to do. We’ve already shipped out a handful of kits including one for RHD.I've installed the kick to open kit on my 2025 and love it!
I currently only use the frunk to store my snow rubber brush and planned to store a spare charge cable once I replaced Ford's. The only reason I don't use it often is not so much opening (although that'd be really cool), but closing. I also, like many I imagine, don't like to hand print all over my hood trying to close it.
If I had something like this I'd easily use it 3+ times a week (which is funny that Ford thinks nobody uses it, when its so hard to use, feel very much the survivor bias plane issue)
So count me in if this gets released. My only requirements (that otherwise would keep me away from buying it):
- 2025 compatible
- plug n play/ease of install (I'm scared of splitting cables and such, I'm ok paying for a professional, but I doubt any around here would be comfortable picking such a niche job of modding an EV beyond the very basics, I imagine)
If the ease of install is not achievable, its not a definitive "no," more like "well, let me start looking for a well reviewed tinkerer on my area and see"

Compatibility wise, it completely integrates with the Ford ecosystem. It works with the key fob that works with the on-screen controls. It works with the keypad lock code and it works with PAAK. Maybe I will post a stand alone thread.
They actually require you to go to Instagram; didn’t realize that’s how it’s hosted. It’s okay I replaced them with YT videos.Your videos don’t play
Thanks! I can’t really hear anything because of the music. I was trying to listen to see if the system still uses the electromechanical latch and, if so, it would be interesting to know if the system has a way of “knowing” that the latch is fully disengaged before actuating the power operated strut, or if it just has a time delay on the strut. It also would be interesting to know how the system re-engages the latch. They actually require you to go to Instagram; didn’t realize that’s how it’s hosted. It’s okay I replaced them with YT videos.
That's awesome!
