I really do not care if they protest. Good for them to have the courage to do so.
My bitchin is no PPE. Protest if you wish just protect the rest of us.
Agreed, as I've said they certainly open themselves to criticism on not protecting themselves (and others). But I refuse to just ignore their reason to protest as a result. That would be equally, if not more, egregious and seems to be the result from many in the media.

Sweetwater has it half right here: no PPE and no social distancing. Note the important part about what I wrote:
But you still clearly have control on whom you come in contact with and to what extent. So let's not overstate what others are doing. While it certainly isn't what I would do, some will protect themselves better than others. You do your best and the likelihood is you will be fine. We don't need to denigrate.

Again, constructive path forward needs to be the focus, not blame game.

Yes I do have control of my contacts and I will be aware. But what PISSES me
off is the people who disregard others. This will and you will see it happen.
Parents dragging kids into places touching everything and no PPE. Tough
times are coming it won't be easy. We here and others understand how
gentle opening up must be done. We also know very well many will not
follow guidelines. I hope we will not get a second wave anywhere.

I agree with most of what you are saying but you still seem to be missing my biggest concern:

"Would I want to conduct business with them or be out in crowds with them? Not worth the risk. Would I know which ones they were? No, and that's the scary part."

It's not just the protestors who are the problem. It's the stupid college kids who wouldn't give up their spring break parties. It's my neighbors down the street who had a party last weekend and you could hear the volleyball game in the back yard. It's the folks who continue to attend crowded church services after all the warnings were sent out and in some cases after they were banned by state order. I don't know which of these folks are my grocery store bagger, my drug store cashier, or the HVAC technician my wife had to meet with at our church. Their stupidity doesn't absolve them from responsibility for community health but their anonymity does.

It's just like gun ownership. I have a right to own my firearms. I don't have a right to go out and shoot them into the air in my suburban neighborhood. Just because I can't see where the bullet flies doesn't mean I'm not responsible for the damage it causes.

This is the point Sweetwater was making. Do you trust going out in crowds? While I can avoid these idiots' protest rallies or illegal parties, I don't know when I have to do business with them a week later when they are asymptomatic virus spreaders. That will keep me in longer than the stay-at-home orders.

Hey that's what I said ! ;) Good advice and that is a fact.
You did good but forget the Trump troopers stuff as we know
about that crap. Leave out Trump and you get A+ for the post.

No, not at all. I chose it because it showed the blatant disregard of social distancing, not because of what they were wearing.

Now, while we're being honest, how many Trump signs, MAGA hats, confederate or Live Free or Die flags, or other Nazi symbols did you have to scroll past to pick the ones you did? And I do find the vile use of Nazi symbology to be offensive and intentionally inflammatory. I'll bet the person who made the sign did too.
Quite honestly, one. I would also add that I find the use of Nazi symbology offensive too, but I do understand where they're coming from. I think that's part of the problem, if you disagree with someone you attack them rather than try to understand their point of view. It can be done.

Arghh!! You're probably the kind of guy who'd complain if others pee in the pool. Why do you care? If you don't like it, don't do it, but how do others peeing in the pool you're in affect you?

On a less sarcastic note, Israel shows how to do it right. This is how you protest without undermining your message. Although this particularly protest was about broader issues, it shows one can protest with a message that the quarantine is not justified in light of the other impacts to society (job loss, mental health, etc) without coming across as close-minded, reckless and insensitive to the unquestionable impact that COVID-19 does have. Very powerful, in my opinion.
