Used Car-Trade In VS Dealer's Cash Offers

When we placed our Mach-E, we knew we would trade-in or sell our 2016 F-150 Super Crew. With my Mach-e in production, I started poking around at websites looking at trade in values or instant cash offers. After a few minutes, the online estimates started coming in ranging from $16-$21.5k. For a vehicle is that is in very good condition but has 138k miles, I was not expecting. So, I decided to see how serious these offers were. Well, I got the $21.5K!! My husband and I are just stunned!! Now, I just have to be patient for my Mach-e's arrival! So, if you are looking to sell/trade in, now is a good time!

My Mach-e won't be here till late June but we did not want to miss out on such an amazing offer! My husband has a little bit of a car collection plus my teenager has an S-10 Blazer. So, we can make it work till tell. If not, hubby said he was find me cheap used thing to use until the mach-e arrives.

We ran an ad on the Auto Trader for my Wife’s car. Sold it for almost 2k more than the best offer received from a dealer. The downside is that she has no car now and probably will be waiting for at least 3 more months before her MME arrives.

So, we can make it work till tell. If not, hubby said he was find me cheap used thing to use until the mach-e arrives.

I could make it work to ditch the Malibu now, especially if I could count on my MME arriving on time. Not sure if I want to take the chance. I also want to see what Chapman will offer for my car so the tax liability will be lower if I trade it.

You can certainly enter the Malibu’s info on some websites to see the potential value. You might get spammed with a couple of calls and emails. You could even spend 15 minutes in a dealership for an inspection. If you don’t like the offer you can walk away.

Use cars. Especially trucks are going for big money in the southwest. Especially Texas.
As long a there is a shortage of vehicles, this should stay. Proving gas doesn't go much higher.

After hearing your story I may take it to AutoNation the next time they send me a message that they want my car.

We walked away from several dealer offers. Some of them even told us to try Carmax!
