Good point Tim. Scheduled weeks are subject to change without notice. My car was scheduled for the 1/24 build week and was scheduled to the Saturday in that week. That entire week of production drug out past February 10.

The only thing that’s odd about the op’s case here imo, is that the delivery date for his car slid back by a huge amount. We’ve seen repeated slides in delivery but not my that much, this leads me to speculate there’s something besides Ford be cautious with delivery ETAs. Could be a parts supplier can’t supply the contracted parts. It could be a giant meteorite smooshed his car in the parking lot and they need to start over.

Be all that as it may, a call to the dealer for the Vehicle Visibility report should answer a lot of questions. If it’s just the usual slow delivery change, it was an overkill in the revised ETA.
Asked my dealer for the Visibility Report yesterday on my car and received a call back saying Ford's website must be down and they would get back to me later in the day. That didn't happen. Not sure if that is just a lazy dealer or if there was an actual problem with Ford's Visibility site.

This chip issue is getting pretty bad. I do not think we can blame Ford. It will be a huge advantage for Hyundai as they have different sourcing and 98% of their cars parts are made/sourced in Korea. They have the lowest number of "shelved" vehicle production right now of all manufacturers. Ford has the highest. I thought of waiting for the Ioniq 5 as I have an Ioniq EV right now and it has been stellar, but the Mach E is is so good, I do not know if the Hyundai will top it. Especially on performance.

I didn't get a delay email (yet?). Car arrived at KC on May 24, according to palsapp.

Window stickers become available shortly before your car begins to be built. They’re not sn indication it’s actually built. Further the build takes about 8 days or so.
The build sometimes takes 8 days. Or your build took 8 days. I wouldn’t spout this if I were you. It gives a lot of people a timeline that they then get disappointed by when it’s not met.

Seriously guys, I’ve been saying this for a while now, but if you want a Mach E you need to go out and find one on the lot. Work the websites and the phones. The whole country is a one-way plane ticket away. Search wide enough, and you can probably find the build you want, possibly at MSRP or Xplan. But better hurry because I suspect the lot supply is drying up fast.

I suspect (perhaps unfairly) that some people are stubbornly clinging to their orders because it is “theirs.” An order ain’t a car. If you want a Mach E, you have to go out and find a Mach E.

The question is why is Ford aggressively advertising a car they can't deliver? My order date is April 8, it's beginning to look like I won't see it this year, anyway.

I don't think Ford would have given you an original ETA until the car was actually completed. Since my car is supposed to be built this week, I am really hoping the chip shortage theory isn't true. However, my window sticker showed up on 5/29, and I still don't have a production date in the tracker.
Tell it to all the F150's sitting in lots all around Kansas City

Exactly what I did. Mine won't come until September at the earliest so I found one in my spec being delivered nearby, put a deposit down, and took ownership same day it came off the truck.

Ad buys are always several months in advance, (past experience). Ford owns the media time - they can try to resell it to someone else or show an ad. I get the feeling that more "position ad's", (ads that show Ford doing community good -things like that), are just around the corner.

Very unfairly. This comment isn’t as helpful as you think it is. Why would OP (or anyone in that position) fly over US at their expense to get a car that they were told should be delivered this week?

This is what makes no sense. I ordered mine 6 days before you and my production date "was" 5/31/21. My best guess for delivery would be July; well before this morning's forum posts. :(

FWIW, our car's production date was May 29 and I got an e-mail early this am saying it shipped yesterday and have an ETA of July 19-25. Obviously, hoping not to get the October delay e-mail, but it sounds like I still could.

And not to be the millionth person to complain about Ford's poor communication, but how can you delay a car for that long and not give a reason? In what universe is that acceptable?

Sorry, I probably wasn’t clear. I definitely sympathize with the frustration of orders being delayed. I’m just trying to give you guys some practical advice: you can be frustrated or you can do something about it.
