It's a bit odd, but not all ChargePoints are "in Network". I'm not sure how Ford decided which are included. You have to look in the FordPass app to see which are in Network.

In network does not mean plug and charge capable.

Also, the 250 kWh new vehicle credit is only redeemable with Electrify America.

Note that it is 250, not 350. As noted in communications from Ford, the 250 can be used (only) with EA chargers. Attached is from the app.

  • The 250 kwh of free charging is ONLY for Electrify America.
  • Only Electrify America currently supports plug-n-charge.
  • Your Fordpass account works with Electrify America, Greenlots, and many others but chargepont is an odd bird. In some cases - such as for Florida Power and Light - you need a specific account with the provider. Your best bet is to look in plugshare; typically there is a note in there if it requires a specific account/app.

Even though you see Shell's GreenLots as integrated in the Ford network, they are NOT !!!! Plug & Charge feature is not recognized by Shell's GreenLots nor you can use the 250 kWH freebie. The ONLY network that I was able to be recognized through Plug&Charge is the Electrify America's dcFast chargers .... BUT the minute you use the Plug&Charge feature your individual EA membership is not recognized.

You are confusing "plug and charge" with the "ford charging network". Indeed the free charging AND plug and charge only apply to EA, but they are not mutually exclusive - it just happened that way.

You can absolutely use your FORDPASS CHARGING account to pay for the charging - operative phrase "pay for". The whole point of the fordpass charging network is so that you don't have to make individual accounts with EA and a bunch of other companies; it does NOT mean that you can charge for free on them.

As for the plug-n-charge overriding your EA pass+ membership, you are correct that P&C is tied to your fordpass account that doesn not have the pass+ pricing. To use your EA pass+ you have to initiate the session through the EA app before plugging in. Ford is working on rectifying that; it was an oversight on Ford's side.

I am not confusing with anything ....as for the plug-n-charge overriding your EA pass+ membership, you are correct that P&C is tied to your fordpass account that doesn not have the pass+ pricing. To me the use of "Plug&Charge", the use of free kwH, the acronym Ford Network is and must be mutually inclusive as well as the listed EA and Shell's GreenLots chargers. Ford boasts as a transparent way of charging whereas there is no need for individual apps but its advantage is negated by the fact it only works currently on EA for the "freebie kWH" ... that's what I was inferring. "Plug&Charge" did not recognize the Shell's greenLots and there is no reason why they can't integrate the EA membership accounts either once the "freebie kwH" is depleted.

Did you try charging at a CCS DFDC in the Greenlots network, or was it L2 J1772? L2 J1772 chargers do not support the ISO standard for Plug & Charge.
