I spoke with my dealer today and they told me they won't get my order from Ford until 7/1. That is when I expect the order to be accepted.
Clueless?

I am still waiting.....patience is not one of my virtues
Have you asked them to hit the accept button? That worked for me on Saturday.

I can vouch (as someone else stated) that it can take a day for the "Order Accepted" status to show a checkmark after the dealer actually submits the acceptance to Ford.
It could take far longer if they want. It's up to them to open the system and press the accept button. Some dealers did it in seconds even without prompting by the customer. Others took up to a day after prompting.

I submitted my order on 6/26 and am still waiting on them to accept it. I've been talking to the EV specialist and he keeps telling me he's waiting to "hear back from his manager" about what to do next.

My dealer is either clueless or just doesn't care. This morning, I emailed my dealer about accepting the order, and he said he already did last week. I had to explain that the order site didn't even open up to us until just this weekend. Fortunately, I was able to forward the info that Hybrid2bev shared with us, and he appeared to find that helpful... but my order still has not been accepted, lol.

@hybrid2bev: Thank you! ?

I'm walking my dealer through the process--a large dealer in SoCal with 3 stores. They really have no idea what system they're supposed to be using, where to accept the order, etc. They say they've been on the phone with Ford and Ford hasn't been much help either. They do know I have a reservation, as they quoted me the exact date and time I made it, and I emailed a copy of my order confirmation and order deposit.

The dealer has to log on to the order management site "Online Order Acceptance Portal" and accept your order. They will see your order request under, "Orders Requiring Attention".

Once the dealer accepts your order they are accepting the wholesale allocation of that unit (so even if you back out, the vehicle is still going to that dealer).
Is this a different system from their regular ordering system (fmcdealer, I think it's called)? I'll bet that's part of the confusion.

I find that to be ridiculous. There is so much information online from Ford if the dealer would care to read it. Almost too much information as there are multiple versions available. Long versions and short versions. There are multiple job aids and other support documents. It’s all there at their fingertips.

I'm wondering if the store's "EV Specialist" has all the info and isn't talking to the Internet Sales Dept? That'll be my next question posed to them. ?

Yes, it's a new online ordering system. All customer online Mustang Mach-E orders thru Ford.com will appear in new WBDO E-Commerce Dealer Portal. After the dealer goes into WBDO look for "Useful Links" (may be at the bottom right?), then click on "Online Order Acceptance Portal". See if that helps them.

I asked via email, and never received a response. Now I'm going to call them. I should just drive over there.

Why are these dealers so clueless? This order process seems like a dud. Hopefully the FUD articles don't get ahold of these issues.

Thank you for the info! A quick Google even provided me a screenshot to send along with the instructions to my dealer. ??

I am sure the Tesla cult media will latch onto these issues like like did the ADMs. Though, I can’t say my dealer has been any better. Despite a couple times contacting them, I have yet to get them to accept my order. I get the impression they have no idea how the online order system works. At least the delay probably doesn’t matter, since production is likely at least a month away from starting.

It is frustrating though since this is the easiest “sale” they have to do. They don’t have to do any sales pitches or accept a lower price or anything. Their only job is to literally press a button to earn the full sales commission. Just shows how useless the dealership middleman is when they are more hinderance than help and the fact they even exist increases the cost of our vehicles (since Ford has to pay them commissions).

Maybe they just don’t care since with EVs they can’t charge overpriced oil changes and tune-ups, and since we are ordering online, they can’t pressure-sell overpriced snake oil protection packages.
