I have a ChargePoint Home Flex charger that is hardwire installed on a circuit with a 60amp breaker. That provides the max 48amps the MME can accept. I have my FordPass app set to charge at home to 90%. I plug in and the charge starts with a target of 90% and it charges until it says the MME is at 90%, but the actual charge level after I get in the car and wait a couple of minutes without driving the car drops to about 82%. This has occurred every time I have charged at this level and at a 30/24amp level (controlled by a ChargePoint app setting). If this occurred on the road at a public charging station on a road trip, it could put me in a way of big hurt! Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Check the charge limit setting in the car. The app setting is not reliable. Others have reported this. I set up my limit in the car to 80 % and it always works. It does usually say 79% when I power it on.

My in car settings are good. The issue is the car charges to the stated level - showing both on FordPass and in car. Then several minutes after the charge is complete (the car/battery has cooled down) the resulting charge level drops by 7 to 10 percent. Note pics that are right after the charge showed complete and an hour later… the car was not driven (the odometer is the same), but the charge level dropped 9 percent. This was yesterday’s charge.

I've noticed a few % drop. Do you need more than 82% as a routine charge?

the 80% level is fine for most cases when near home. But proper charging on a road trip would be critical.

Good. I have mine set to 80% but tend to get in the car to find less. In the past, when I've told the car to go to 100% I actually get it. You might try the override (charge to 100%) button on FP one evening when you know you'll drive the next day to make sure you get a true 100%.

100% charge level works fine… but it stays at 99% for a long time…. Again, the issue would be critical only on road trips with planned/scheduled Charging stops. The route planner will expect the charge to be to the stated level.

That seems really odd to drop that much. I assume your car is plugged in the whole time. If the car was unplugged and ran battery conditioning, that could use some battery. Or if you had preconditioning on and it were unplugged ugge. Just some ideas

I agree with @AZBill and @generaltso. Something seems messed up here. The percentage should not drop from 89 to 82 with the car simply sitting quietly in the garage for an hour.

On the other hand, an immediate drop from 100% to 99% (or 80% to 79%) right when you pull out of the driveway is perfectly normal. Ford is either truncating the percentage instead of rounding (99.999 becomes 99 on instrument cluster), or stopping charging when the desired charge state reaches the rounded value (99.500 rounds to 100, charging stops).

It is every time reproducible - I have photos and screen prints plus a log of every charge since April. And I have reported it to the dealer. They had the car for 4 days and didn’t even run diagnostics, so I picked it - why let it sit outside of their lot when I can garage it. I did meet with the dealer service manager about this and another issue and am now awaiting him getting back to me. I was just wondering if anyone else had encountered this…

Dealer service manager did NOT call me back. I called him - only to be told that he passed my concerns on to Ford. Little concern was exhibited. I know they are busy and backlogged, but this is just poor service and poor communications. I have not seen this specific issue acknowledged by anyone else, so perhaps Ford and the dealership prefer to ignore it - it’s not affecting many MME owners like the driver door won’t open issue or the slew of PAAK issues. I will call the service manager again next week, but hold little hope for an active response.

I'm reading a lot of threads where dealers just seem to be absolutely apathetic toward the Mach-E. It's becoming a really scary refrain.

I’m trying to understand what’s happening. When the car finishes charging, are you unplugging it right away? Or is the batter ever dropping while it’s still connected to shore power?

I'm assuming that you unplug it, then come back later to a decreased battery level. If so, are you unplugging it pretty immediately, or are you giving the car time to coil the batteries back down before unplugging it? Does the cooling system and coolant pump kick while the level is dropping?

y brain is heading this direction because I could see the car using a it of battery to cool the battery pack down in a warm garage. But that’s all speculation.
