Got the first questions from a stranger about mine today. I was drying her off at the car wash and a lady stopped, put her window down, and asked 'What IS that?'. Told her 'it's the Mach E, the new electric Mustang'. She replied 'it's so cool'. I almost said 'I know' but went with thanks instead. ????

This is my first time doing extra things to a car. I got ceramic and tint. Tint was $850 for all glass and looks great.

Only problem is on the passenger side front window there is a large-ish piece of lint that got trapped so it has the bubble around it and a few ripples. Impossible to photograph on the phone but pretty easy to spot right away since it’s at the eye line. The drivers window has a couple small ripples but those don’t bother me.

Being as this is my first time, how much do I complain? Is it grounds to ask them to redo the one window? Or is it pretty much just “that’s bound to happen”? I don’t want to be an asshole if this isn’t a thing to get picky about but I also don’t like that I shelled out $850 for the car to look cheap.

Advice much appreciated!

Wow! $850 sounds steep for window tint. The ripples may disappear as the adhesive cures. Unless it's already been a couple weeks, in which case they need to be fixed. I would definitely ask for both windows to be fixed.

It’s worth bringing up to the shop. It’ll bug you if you don’t. A good shop wants you to be happy, and I’ll bet he steps up right away and takes care of it. One window isn’t a big deal for them to fix.

Ok good to know thank you!! It’s only been 3 days. I will let them know tomorrow and then check in again in 2 weeks and go from there.

I got the xpel prime plus or whatever was most expensive and they were $150-300 cheaper than all the other quotes so not bad for the area I guess!

Do you know by any chance how they do the tint for this vehicle? Do they take the doors apart in order to reach all the glass?

Most installers do not remove the door panels but I have heard of it being done. Only your installer can answer that.

Finished re-waxing car. It looks better but I can still see water spots if I look carefully enough. The next step if I want to pursue this is an orbital polisher with the same Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions cream and will remove the top layer of the damaged car coat. I tried using this on the glass roof and side view mirrors and it seems to have helped eradicate the spots. I'm afraid to use the orbital buffer on the cars finish and want to see what the results would be before I would even consider how I would do it, Most likely it would go to a professional detailer if I decide to do it.

I moved the pictures to the thread I was discussing how I waxed car. Thread is: "Turtle Wax Ice Seal N Shine beading over time." Sorry about the confusion of incorrectly posting.
