Not sure if you're responding to the artistry or that it's yet-another-unnecessary-emoji.

If the former, each keyboard vendor (Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc) redraws the design to suit their theme/look.

If the latter, imagine this life without emojis. GIFs have been around since the 1980s.

Well mostly the latter, with a little bit of "who cares" thrown in.

I guess I didn't even realize there was an official "emoji list" and they had to lobby people to add one. Never really thought about it, TBH.
