42mph for the Mach E, 47mph for the Model Y -- about a 10% difference. That's far from a spectacular failure.

It is also not surprising since we know Ford tuned the handling to give it a "Mustang" feel. That bit of oversteer has consequences in tests like this. Fortunately, the Mach E doesn't oversteer nearly as much as Mustang coupes. Yes, more aggressive tires would definitely improve the moose course performance but at a cost to efficiency, ride, and perhaps noise.

Anyone remember the Isuzu Trooper? That was a spectacular failure in the moose test. It fell over.

The more I read about the moose test the more I see massive flaws in it. If they would allow breaking and let ABS to handle the things in steering it would great as it allows weight transfer to happen and correctly load up the wheel per design.
Remember most spots cars fail the moose test really badly as well.

All moose would do poorly in the moose test too ?

Of course it departs the course... look at where the front wheels were pointed. They didn't even try to get it back on track. The Tesla pass gets a whole load of turning input and the Mach-E pass the driver is just like "FOR THE CLICKS!!!"

Ever see a running moose try to take a fast corner on asphalt?

I tell you, the Continental Extreme Contacts in 245-50R19 are quieter and more comfy, with no discernable change in efficiency. In total honesty, their only drawback, and thats a very minor one, is that they develop flat spots when parked a long time. About 5 minutes on the road and the small vibration that results disapears.

For a non biased moose test see for the Mach-E in particular or any other brand/model search the site :)

Let the Moose be warned...

No the GT is faster per tests
Maybe just the Gt drivers are slower if they don’t get the joke…….?

But technically speaking, “per tests” the GT is currently slower from 60-100.

In California we can't handle driving in light rain. Now you're going to throw a Moose into the mix?! I'd fail this test in any car as I would be staring at it saying... "Is that a freaking..."

Thinking more about the “moose test,” aren’t you NOT supposed to swerve if there is an animal in the street??

https://driversed.com/driving-infor...-minimize-the-chances-of-hitting-animals.aspx

“ Do not try to swerve around an animal! You could lose control of your vehicle and hit a tree or another vehicle—both potentially much worse than hitting a deer.”
