I am still having issues unlocking the car. I have to open the rear door to get the front door to unlock. Ford has been no help and I don't want to waste time going to the dealer unless its my last resort. i want to do a hard reset but getting to the 12V battery is a bit of a nuisance. Is there another way? Is there a fuse I can pull? Thanks

Ford has been no help?!? They have a network of dealers that will fix your car at no cost under warranty. Exactly what more help are you expecting??

To be actually helpful… there’s a technical bulletin on this exact issue. To make it easy, find the proper bulletin in that section of the forum and just print it out or write down the number and tell the dealer. Easy mode!

If you read my post, Im trying to avoid having to leave the car at the dealer for a day especially if this is a simple “unplug it and plug it back in” solution.

As far as accessing the battery, it's actually not that bad... Just one cover you have to remove in the frunk and it snaps off with no tools and the battery is right there...

The reason Im trying to DIY this is that I’ve owned the car for about 6 months and had at least a half dozen tech glitches during that time ( PAAK not working, profile settings deleted, screen blanked temporarily etc). I realize we are early adopters and this car is still a work in progress but I really don’t want to be visiting the dealer every month. Nice guys but not where I want to be spending my time. And the last time I brought the car in they drove me to work but used my own car to do it and the driver smelled like an ashtray.

I called Ford to see if they had tech support. After all this is a computer on wheels but the only tech support they provide is for synch. Generally I manage to fix most tech issues myself or with the help of people on forums like this. This issue may not be one that we can DIY. I’m just trying to get a feel for the future of this car. If we had to drive to Apple and leave our phone there all day every time there was a bug or a software update caused a glitch they wouldn’t be selling too many phones.

I saw a video that made it look like you had to remove two of them (rear and right) but I agree. I just thought there might be an easier way like pulling a fuse instead of popping a dozen clips but it looks like the fise box is right next to the battery anyway so not really a shortcut. I think Im just going to disconnect the battery and see if that fixes the issue. If not then its going to be an annoying trip to the dealer

Yeah, I'm with ya! To be honest, it seems like you should just give it a try even though there isn't an easier way. Its probably something that is definitely worth knowing how to do and you might be in a situation where you won't have as much time to disengage the 12v so if you can find the time now, you should go for it!

I still use trim tools to try to minimize scratches and bent parts, but that's right, just that back panel closest to the windshield is all you need to remove (not the side panel, except for jumping the battery with a jump pack or cables to another car). Another @markboris tip, put a little silicone dielectric grease on each post, and it comes off much easier. Be very careful lifting the panel, or you might lose one or more posts into the void below. Then, all it takes is a 10mm socket to pull the negative terminal (I use a short extension too). If you want to leave the battery disconnected for a while, put a rag between the lifted the terminal and the battery, or tape the negative cable to the bar above.

I had my first odd quirk recently (since the 12V problems of months past) when a block or so from home, I realized my driver's display (the speedo, etc) was blank. I pulled over and turned the car off and back on, no change. So, I drove home, lifted the negative terminal for just ten to twenty seconds, reconnected, and all was fine, driver's display has been normal since.

Shoudn't have to do it, but a lot of EV drivers have been carrying a 10mm socket since the first Chevy Volt for just such gremlins.
