My front end camera failed last week. Its at the dealer now for service but i found out over the weekend that even if I switched the cruise control to normal mode it wouldn’t let you use it. I don’t understand why since normal mode should work like any normal car and should not require the camera.

i don’t expect the canera to fail completely again but if we get a little slush splashed on it in the winter this could be an annoying problem.

Did you get the IPMA update? I think it fixes this issue where if adaptive stops working it will let you use regular...versus before neither would work.
I have the latest update. It was done OTA a week or two ago before the camera failure occurred. The dealer has to replace a module so now I have to wait another week while they order it.

There's been no OTA for the IPMA so it is likely you do not have the latest update. Keep in mind an OTA update doesn't actually mean ALL Modules are up to date. If you send me your VIN I can see what updates are available for your car.

Is this confirmed? My camera has been inoperative for months now. Not having cruise control of any sort is really a bummer.
How do I enable normal cruise control if the camera is not working?

Hi there! Can you send us a DM with more information? I’ll see how I can assist on my end. Thank you!

I know in my nov. 2021 build date GTPE that normal cruise and even adaptive cruise will still work if the camera is blocked. Took delivery in January in NY winter and it got slushed up a lot. BC will stop working and give a front camera blocked error, but cruise still worked. It actually impressed me because in my prior Cadillac, if adaptive didn’t work, there was no cruise or speed control, which was not the case in the MachE.

If that is the case, how can I check to see if I have the correct “software” version? Mine is a 21 MME AWD.
