From the info gathered here locally, dealers are only doing the recall after an inspection warrants it. They eont automatically proceed in doing the work if your car doesn't need to which is good news. Also there seems to be issues getting the material so there will be delays

What next! maybe it wasn't a great idea to build the Mach e in Mexico. I have a 2014 max, same type windshield and a glass panoramic roof, and never any recalls.

... I called my local dealer and asked if I needed to wait for a letter in the mail, and they said "No - we see it here in the computer, so we can schedule the work". ...
That's funny... I contacted my dealer Nov 1 and they said that 41S42 and 21C22 are "advance notices and are not ready for us to work on yet."

Just received the written letters in the mail yesterday. Per the letter, Dealer's won't be getting more information until November 15, and for the impacted users to contact dealers after that date to schedule service.

This is not what the NHSTA website says. It says 100% of 13,544 vehicles affected on the panoramic roof. It states that they will clean the glass and flange on the affected areas and apply the proper urethane adhesive to the affected areas.
While the dealers will be given more specific instructions on November 15th. The recall notification goes all the way back to June when they started their investigation with a remedy submitted September 14th to the NHSTA.

Same here, we sold it before buying the MME. We had it for 7 years and no problems with the windshield or the pano glass roof!

I don't blame him. I wouldn't want my car taken apart unless absolutely necessary either
I sort of feel the same way too but wonder what the downsides are of not having the recall done. Some are saying resale value. The thought of my dealer trying to remove/replace the windshield scare the heck out of me and I can see where there will be windshields that crack/break when this is attempted.

Safelite does this sort of work all the time without a lot of problems so if Ford outsources the work then I might reconsider having it done. Have to wait until November 15th to find out I suppose.

I received my recall letter in the mail yesterday and have heard from others who received theirs as well. Word is that dealer will be ready to do the work by mid-November.

Ok thank you, not to be argumentative but it does say estimated percentage which leads me to believe that they dont know if it really affects all 13000 cars. They believe 100% are affected but until they actually check them they wont know. Im sure they have a procedure to verify whether or not the roof and windshield are properly installed. In any case once some of us actually head to the dealers we'll be getting a better understanding of what the process will be.

Thats my major issue with this, do you trust the dealer enough to properly check something that’s going to potentially impact them financially? Some shady dealers out there might just say they fixed it or it doesn't need fixing and John Q. Public is left with the problem.
