Thats my major issue with this, do you trust the dealer enough to properly check something that’s going to potentially impact them financially? Some shady dealers out there might just say they fixed it or it doesn't need fixing and John Q. Public is left with the problem.
I thought the dealers were paid by Ford to do warranty work and that they didn't lose any money. That would not negatively impact them financially.

I received my recall letter in the mail yesterday and have heard from others who received theirs as well. Word is that dealer will be ready to do the work by mid-November.
That's what my Dealer told me as well when I contacted them off of the advance notice. Got my letter yesterday and have an appointment on 11/19 to to recall work. I'll update how it goes

I sort of feel the same way too but wonder what the downsides are of not having the recall done. Some are saying resale value. The thought of my dealer trying to remove/replace the windshield scare the heck out of me and I can see where there will be windshields that crack/break when this is attempted.

Safelite does this sort of work all the time without a lot of problems so if Ford outsources the work then I might reconsider having it done. Have to wait until November 15th to find out I suppose.
Very few dealers do this work. They will outsource this to windshield repair/replace companies. As the recall notice states "Additional time may be required to coordinate with glass installer". That tells me that Ford expects the dealers to outsource this work to people who do this every day.

What next! maybe it wasn't a great idea to build the Mach e in Mexico. I have a 2014 max, same type windshield and a glass panoramic roof, and never any recalls.
They always do that. My BMW was built in Mexico.

Or on my first post I provided a link to the recall on the NHSTA website.
I don't see anything about the windshield in this screenshot

They say estimated percentage and then go on to say they MAY have inadequately adhered windshield. So out of maybe 100% maybe they have an inadequately adhered windshield. Doesn't sound like they really know.
Right, all of the affected cars MAY have an inadequately adhered windshield. I don't think they really have a way to test that, so they're just going to remove and reinstall all of the windshields with known good adhesive. This is what it says in the letter sent to owners of affected vehicles:

Called my dealer today. Was told that they have not been instructed yet of the steps that would need to be taken to do the work. She sounded like I was the fourth person she told this to this morning. She claimed that another notice would go out when this information was "released" to the dealers. Has anyone had the work done yet?

You're out of the recall window period which I believe cut off in June of 21.

I have been pestering multiple people about this recall as my new car sits at the dealer until they complete it. So far the only thing I’ve gotten back is that Ford engineering *should* be providing instructions and or parts ordering info to dealers the week of Nov 15. My dealer had no info yet, customer service says only service managers at dealer can get new info, and other dealers have ni updates.

I’m crossing my fingers they get more info soon.. and looking back at my recall it says my dealer is authorized to perform the recall, I’m not sure if that’s new or not. I don’t remember what it said before!
