I was the victim of the online order of MME and the dealer charge $10K markup.
See the thread for details: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...r-10k-markup-on-my-mach-e-online-order.11287/

At the moment, I already knew at least 4 victims in just one dealer (Fremont Ford, Newark, California).
This has been going on for a long time and multiple cases have been filed to Ford and not much results.
(Some report the sucess of remove the markup through Mr Levine)

Since I believe this is happening all round especially in Nor Cal., We need a solution here as oppose to handle it one by one through Mr Levine, I start this thread to collect the victims info. As clearly stated in the online order form regarding the dealer selling prices(see the attached snapshot), I believe it is a breach of contract both ford and its dealers. Lets start collect the victim info in this thread and decide what's our next step should be.

Contract? You signed a contract?

I suspect any decent lawyer will tell you that you placed an order, and your option is to walk, nothing more.

I agree an ADM AFTER your order and the listed price on your order not matching when you have waited 4-6 months is really bad form. Dealers should just post the markup under the "Dealer Selling Price".

Only advice is do the usual twitter and in cars, especially now, get it in writing from the dealer that they won't be doing this. We're stuck in the dealership model by law so not much we/you can do. I'm guessing dealers still doing this are probably after a cash grab and will probably sell the dealership eventually (they're half way out the door).

Blindly ordering and expecting it to turn out well is naive in this car buying environment (for any vehicle). Since orders take 6+ months anyways, you might as well spend some of that time researching anything related to the purchase. Some feel you shouldn't have to, but there are probably deals in everything we buy and not doing it results in what happened to OP.

I bought Ford stock too after researching here and anyone who cares about $$ should spend some time on following this forum (or any other car forum).

While buying Ford stock and waiting 6 months is one way to get X-Plan, assuming your dealer agrees to accept it, it's the most expensive way to get X-Plan, not to mention risky, and 3 months longer to wait than other options.

Yeah, agreed. I figure it's not completely $$ down the toilet since it can increase in value (which it has by 50%+ already...should've loaded up even more honestly (or any stock)). I was fairly comfortable holding Ford stock with the F150 EV coming and Mach-e reviews (and their valuation is 20x less than Tesla and even now, less than Rivian when I bought...shows how much investors LOVE new EV tech (assuming they can ship a car)).

I actually also have MCA too (found that after the stock purchase so I will be 3 months+/ready before my car comes in), but point I was trying to make to others and OP is the research beforehand I even ordered is key and I want to keep as many/all my options open.

I've confirmed X-plan with dealer in writing before placing my order as well.

Did you have to confirm the dealer accepted X-Plan pricing on your car, or was it enough to confirm the dealer subscribes to X-Plan (and thus automatically putting you in X-Plan per the dealership participation)?

It sounds to me like Fremont Ford is working for Tesla. It's only two miles from the factory. They're pushing customers in that direction.

I have it in an email saying they will accept X-Plan for my specific order.

I've said it before, but I think anyone ordering something coming in 6-7 months owes it to themselves to at least get it in writing now vs. praying/hoping it'll work out. Assume it won't so like a Pre-nup, it's for a worst case scenario.

They can still screw you over at the end of the day, but at least you did all you could based on what you knew. It also takes $0 to ask so why not?

If they don't take X-plan from MCA, maybe my F stock ownership will be useful. Both are x-plan actually so if they don't take it, I'm out of luck. I guess MCA is only for 1 year (if I don't renew)...if my order gets pushed to 2023, I can use something else.
