I’m very interested in if my car is affected. While many in the 10/11 build week saw their delivery grind to a halt, mine made it to my CLT dealership by 12/8, and I completed the transaction on 12/10.

I wonder if they let some cars through that didn’t get a bad batch, or maybe I was just lucky.

It’s just my wife and I with no kids, so we’ll keep driving the car with no issues since the stop sale is rear seat related
If I may ask, what dealership did you go through? My build week was 11/18 and mine is still sitting in MO. My delivery window is today through the 26th. I have put in a call to my dealership about the recall. I read somewhere that the GTs should not be affected. I see you also bought a GT. I am waiting to hear back from them.

Just heard back from my dealership and my car (GT) IS part of the recall. They will not let me take purchase of it until the recall is taken care of. And they will not know anything until January 3ed. Not sure what this does for the tax credit, though it will be for 2022 instead of 21. My dealer also told me that ford has not hit their allocation of the tax credit, so it will not be because of them if we do not get the credit. Merry Christmas to all of us!

Took delivery of my 21 Mach E Premium AWD extended battery last Thursday 12/16/21. Build date shows 10/14/21. Called dealership today to ask about my car. They checked my vin # in their system for recalls. No recalls for that vin#. Was told there was no way they could have sold me the car if there was a recall on it. Maybe only certain vin#’s?

Went in to be first pickup today at dealership. They won't sell us car since Ford announced a recall on all mach e from oct 3rd till now for a issue with rear seatbelts.

The dealership pretty much told us at best we can expect it Jan 3rd for a fix, so anyone who hasn't gotten car, has no chance of getting it this year.

Mine was built just prior in August. Maybe they started using a new supplier for the October Builds?

How soon do you expect the dealer to have the information they need to inspect for the defect?
When they pull a smart vincent it will tell them if they need to do it. It will not let them move forward in that program until proof has been submitted that the vehicle has been inspected and cleared for defect. If it does have the defect then you have to deal with it from there. Like I said though, most of the Mach-Es produced will be fine. I have been selling Ford 8 years and normally only a small percentage of inventory is ever actually affected.

Ford notified dealers of a needed seatbelt repair involving certain new Mach-E SUVs, triggering a hold on any undelivered new vehicles built from Oct. 5 to Nov. 18.
Ford spokesperson Said Deep confirmed Monday that 2,304 Mach-E vehicles are affected by the recall. Of that number, 741 are in customer hands and 1,563 are on hold by dealers, he said.
A complete Dealer Bulletin will be provided to dealers the week of January 3rd, 2022 when it is anticipated the parts ordering information and repair instructions will be available to support this compliance recall. These vehicles need a rear seatbelt anchor thread repair. If a vehicle is delivered to a buyer or lessee unrepaired, the dealer could face civil penalties of up to $21,000 per vehicle. from

Welp, my comment on Reddit was quoted in this Detroit Free Press article on the recall. Yes, 'Brutal.'

Town and Country Ford in Charlotte, NC. Picked it up before the stop sale was issued.

2,304 Mach-E's are affected, are we confident that is all Mach-E's that were built in that timeframe? That seems reasonable...

I'm currently seeing red.

Waited for what seemed like forever, got the call call from the dealer that it's ready for pick up. They called back 15 minutes later to tell me about the recall.

I knew about it from this site but I wasn't going to bring it up hoping I could get it. So much for getting the tax credit this year.

we were sitting at the salesman's desk about to sign the papers when he got the call. We were supposed to be taking the car home that day. they gave us the option to back out but we figured we'd gone this far, it was the last car they had and there weren't any ev alternatives available.....
now we wait

Bummer. I'm also in the 'seeing red' category.

My car was produced on 10/15 and I finally picked it up yesterday. Did I beat the buzzer? No recall is noted against my VIN #.

Consider yourself very lucky……. My build date 10/15, shipped 10/19…. Still waiting,
now in limbo……. Disgusted with this whole Ford cluster****… Bill Pitman

Having taken delivery a day before the stop sale and having since talked to my dealer about it, I can confirm a couple things:

1. They were letting (at least some) affected vehicles through prior to the stop sale, whether intentionally or unintentionally. They checked and confirmed my vehicle is affected.
2. My car is a GT, so GTs are not immune to the problem.

I’d be seeing red right with you all if I didn’t luck out getting it a day before. Crazy thing is I was going to wait until Saturday to get it, had an urgent need to drive 50 minutes for an MRI on Friday, and so Thursday afternoon I decided to go ahead and pick it up that evening.
