Went in to be first pickup today at dealership. They won't sell us car since Ford announced a recall on all mach e from oct 3rd till now for a issue with rear seatbelts.

The dealership pretty much told us at best we can expect it Jan 3rd for a fix, so anyone who hasn't gotten car, has no chance of getting it this year.

Well that is just ridiculous as how did vehicles before this period turn out OK? Sounds like everyone is going to have thebissue, but now the tax credit issue and we get screwed

Ya the dealership was having a big meeting about this when we walked in, we were just unlucky to be the customers there before they found out. They said they are calling everyone now to let them know.

We even promised to not use the rear seats :(

Yeah it's an inconvenience not to get delivery by 12/31/21 but next year just withhold less.

My build date was literally the day before the cutoff. Blah

And it looks like 1/3/22 will be the date that they announce what the fix is and how to order parts/deal with it. Actual fix & delivery to customer will be later imo.

Ya dealer said he will do everything he can to get us a fix before Jan 1st. But said he has no info ATM, and to not to expect anything before Jan 3rd since Ford needs to send them parts and tell them how to fix.

Thanks for the heads up. Who's your dealer? We're supposed to get ours tomorrow morning at Walnut Creek.

Withholding less is a great idea assuming your car qualifies next year, that still up in the air

ya, i dont feel the need to debate what could or could not be for next year bill, but im not big on betting that much. I ordered a second mach e slightly under the max a few months ago. Im hoping that i can end up with a slightly cheaper mach e, with more range, in only a month or two if i can get them to prioritize it now.

Bummer. Hope they can honor or improve incentives on Ford Options plan.
@Ford Motor Company - meaningful monetary compensation for consideration of a 12-month delay in being able to receive our tax credit would be the right thing to do here. I'm thinking of some cash upfront rebate, or a lowered APR on for Ford Options plan would be fair. Token additional charging credits would not.
