These type of thermos cups are very popular - anyone with kids can attest. However, when you put them into the cup holders in the fold down center divider (back seat) the pins essentially "lock" the cup into place (due to the slightly enlarged base) and the only way to remove the cup is with a couple of credit cards pushing each locking pin away. Makes for a frustrating road trip when you have to try to get it unstuck on the road, or stop on the side of the road every time they put it in.

Certainly not a deal breaker for me, but in a first-run car just thought I'd post it somewhere in case there are any engineers paying attention!

I'm not sure I see the hilarity, but it does seem like that would be annoying if you use those types of cups.

Solution: Avoid cups unknown to Ford's crack design team.

....is kinda funny though.

Good to know! We have a couple of these for the little guy. Guess I'll be keeping the center armrest up for a while.

Yeah, if the cup or bottle has any sort of hourglass shape, it can be difficult to extract. That’s a lot of things….

There are a bazillion children's cups. Probably a half a bazillion of them don't fit in any given car.

I find it even funnier that the Walmart link to the type of cups says they are “vacuum INSULARTED.”

I wonder if there’s a good markup on used children? Of course, if you got rid of them, you’d have to wait at least 9 months for a new one and it might not have all the same features as the one you got rid of. ?

Yeah, but I’m talking literally anything with even a vague hourglass shape kinda gets stuck. Like even 20oz plastic bottles that aren’t perfect cylinders.

If I sell these children… idk. I think they’re irreplaceable. As in, no way am I going to replace them.

Then I guess we now know what kind of cups to avoid.

I had the same issue and it’s super annoying. The tabs need to go all the way down to the base of the cup holder. I was thinking of putting some round plastic or rubber to slightly lift the bottle so that the tabs can’t grab the lip of the bottom.
