I ordered a 22 on Oct 1 and have a build date in a couple of weeks. I'm just wondering if anyone has talked to their dealer about any type of compensation for not getting these two features that were listed on the website and order guide when we placed our order last year? Or even if it's possible to get them added to the car after purchase?

I'm not too happy about these features being removed.

They're not going to swap windows.
People have driven both and remarked they could tell no difference.
The dealership is unlikely to pay to add the kick sensor. Ford hasn't said anything.

It would be different if you had the feature and 5K miles later, Ford disabled it. Windshield is well... unnoticeable they say.

Front windows. Not windshield. ;)

Ask the dealer to lower their ADM by $200.00.

Let us know how it goes.

Your likely recourse is that you can cancel your order and get your deposit back (would likely require dealing with Ford not your dealer).

And the dealer would be happy to oblige.

If Ford canceled the order the dealer actually might not be happy because they could lose that allocation and the car never makes it to the dealership (depending on the timing of things). If it arrives and the buyer doesn't take delivery the dealers are generally happy because they put them on their lot at a markup (which is what I assume you're getting at and you're correct).

I still have a faint hope that my 2021 that was made into a 2022, still has the kick sensor, but I figure it's a 1 out of 10,000 chance.

FWIW- The kick sensor works about 50% of the time. I'm just using the FOB to open the back. the internal button is three deep in screens.

The kick sensor seems to have a mind of its own for some. For us, it works nearly 100% of the time.

Kick sensor works perfectly on mine once I discovered where to motion for it. Even my 4yo can get it to work perfectly now that she knows the secret place to "kick".

But yea, all you can do is take it or leave it. The dealer would prefer you leave it so they can do crazy ADM for someone else. EV's are selling like crazy with gas going up and up and up. You can get your deposit back and get out of the deal easily enough since they made a material change to the agreement. But you're unlikely to get any compensation unless you get rare treatment for some reason or another.

Yeah this is a problem. At least make that button available on the main screen somewhere. I have a physical button on my drivers door in my other car and use it all of the time to open the hatch before I get out or to open it for my wife who is grabbing something out of the back while dropping her off. They could at least make it easier access on the screen even without the kick sensor.

Well that's bad business practice. You know Ford knew they were going to remove these features before they printed the first few 2022 order guides which included them. I dunno, maybe it just became an issue in November due to the chip shortage. But they should provide a way for us to at least get the kick sensor installed free of charge later down the line.
