1+ year for a Reservation is understandable for a vehicle still in development, 1 year for an Order made after customer deliveries started is brutal, especially when other people that ordered at the same time as you got theirs in as little as 4-5 months. I will be in the 1 year order (not reservation) club soon too. The waiting time inequality is the worst part, it's impacted me every step of the way. Last to get an allocation, model year change, build date pushed back several times, produced the last day of the scheduled week, now sitting in chip hold for the past two months while others produced the same week have been delivered already. I fully expect once mine finally leaves the factory there will be an extra month or two shipping delay for one reason or another because fuck me. Literally nothing can happen on time with this process. Cars built the same week shouldn't arrive 4 months apart when they are the same spec. To top it off, Ford doesn't care. Worst buying experience ever.

I'll be celebrating a one year of waiting on March 24. According to the tracker, that's when the car is scheduled to arrive, lol. The first scheduled date was January 6 and has been pushed back several times, so I'm not holding my breath that the next delivery window will be met. I get it that Ford is a huge company and there are a lot of folks waiting on cars, but at some point can't someone step in and try to help move it along? This car is in the states.

I would have posted this in the grumpy thread, but I don't want to be grumpy, it takes too much energy!

and your dealer is not able to provide you with Vehicle Visibility Report printout? They have visibility to exactly where it is at. Also, Ford can help you as they offered before.

On another note, folks on RivianForums describe waiting 3 years...

Excellent salient points on order inequality. That's the part that eats at me.

At this point I don't really care what the VVR says. I've looked at plenty. The report doesn't help getting the car delivered.

Good for you. Fingers crossed yours arrives soon… I’m only 5 months in on my wait … so… I’m attempting to be patient. :)

I waited a year and a half almost. What ya complaining about. The car is worth the wait.

I really couldn't care less on how long you waited nor did I ask you. When you ordered you knew the wait would be that long. We were told four months when we ordered. Just be happy you have one, and I will be too, when it arrives.

What never made sense to me is this… if someone orders a car, then backs out for whatever reason, in the current market, there is almost guar to be someone that already ordered a vehicle identically equipped. Why doesn’t that car go to the next person that ordered that trim? I mean, I love the Smurfmobile, but I never ordered it. I’m relatively sure that someone out there was waiting for a grabber blue First Edition last March, yet somehow I managed to jump the line. That seems extremely unfair. And how do you ship a car that’s build date is several weeks later than an identical one still waiting on parts?

Most dealerships use inventory software that, for whatever reason, includes reserved vehicles in the available inventory. It is highly unlikely that any of those are actually available. It took weeks of calling dealerships about listings to manage to find an abandoned order to take over, despite Autotrader’s claim that there are tons available.

The most frustrating part is the auto-replies from the dealerships themselves. They’ll send emails saying the vehicles are available, then act like you’re an idiot for assuming that the cars are actually available.

How do you know you’re in a chip hold? My car has been in production since 2/3 and I have seen zero movement since and there is no communication from Ford.

You are expecting Ford to be good with IT and being able to match orders and transfer them.

We’re talking about a company that can’t roll out updates.

maybe their brand new huge contract with Salesforce last month will help with that.
