It sounds like good things are happening but the question is if this will be over the air or we have to go in. So far it sounds like a lot of cars are going to have to go in and get an appointment and wait who knows how many hours.
And THAT is the primary reason I haven’t done my glass recall yet. If I’m going to be without my car for a couple of days, I want it coming out with all the bells and whistles working.

You need to go to the dealer to have it installed (at least that is what I was told). That's why they need to know the name of your dealer if you live in Michigan and are one of the first to get it. Ford engineers are standing by to help if needs be.

I heard it's between a 1-3 hour install process but hoping to be quicker. At least the initial fixes are at dealers, although I doubt the wide release fix would be an OTA either.

If only Ford would give us access to FDRS for csp updates I'd happily guineapig this in my driveway.

I found a feature under Settings/General/Submit Feedback. In there is an option for issues with updates. One for OTA and another for USB. I submitted feedback for OTA updates. A couple hours later I noticed the software update option would now let me turn on updates and schedule updates. I scheduled an update for later this evening. Now I will wait and see.

Yes, but it does not appear to be an absolute necessity to go immediately, or my dealer would be able to do more than two a week.
Idk dude some people said that their cars barely had any adhesive on their glass.

me my reasoning was: if I risk it and lose my roof on the highway it’s gonna be on me because I ignored the recall.

Do we know of anyone in South East Michigan who has the 1.7.1 stuck issue? Do we know of anyone who is actually getting this fox installed to test it.
I’m not stuck but I am invested in the drama and rooting for you all. (Plus after they fix your issue maybe they’ll move on to some of mine.)

@suliban (Steve) lives in Michigan and was notified to give Ford EA Team his dealers name and address so apparently he is one who will have it done first (see below):

Got this email from Ford Early Access today:

I am reaching out as our records indicate that your vehicle has been having issues getting the latest Ford Power-Up Software Updates. We are looking to help you get your vehicle fixed, preferably this week if you are available.

As a starting point, we’d like to see who your preferred dealer is. Can you let us know which dealer you would like to visit to get your software update issue fixed?...."

Replied and hope to get it in this week. We will see.

EDIT: I heard from @suliban and he told me he had the "fix" (software) applied at his dealer on Thursday (3-17-22). Said it took about 2 hours. They told him he would start to receive OTA updates but as of yesterday he had not received any. Hopefully, he will post about the experience himself.

Some people in europe with the same issue there ?
In France, absolutely no communication from Ford or the Dealer.
I have an open ticket to my dealer since 3 month and no information about this.

I received the recall notification for the front glass but nothing about OTA....

Bonjour,

Hopefully our test bunnies have major success and this topic will be mort (dead) before page 100.

The Ford team seem to only comment on the positive news on these pages, so let's hope they get to do it here soon too!

So, what is the easiest/best way to contact the Ford Early Access folks?
I have been stuck at 1.7.1 since October.
Car has been to dealer service 3 times in the last 6-8 weeks, each time with an explicit requirement that they fix the OTA lockup caused by the 1.7.1 update hang and that they update the software to the latest.
All three times I explicitly asked if this had been done.
All three times they insisted emphatically that it had been fixed and updated by their MachE software specialist.
All three times when I got the car back NOTHING had been done. Still locked up and nothing fixed.
I have obviously lost faith in dealer service competence and honesty.
It looks like my only hope is to go over their heads to Ford which it sounds like others here have also done, and maybe successfully?

Anyway, I would appreciate any info on how to get Ford EA on board to help me out.
