I searched through the threads and saw others talking about similar things but it doesn’t really pertain to me. This has happened every single day since I’ve owned the car. I never really gave it much thought until my wife today said, “a $70k vehicle shouldn’t just have a random non working system”

All doors closed, put it in reverse every single time it displays the Remote Brake Assist Not Available. See Manual. I reverse, put it in drive and it goes away. It has shown that from day 1 and like I said, I just kind of ignored it until it was thrown in my face.

I looked through the settings and there don’t appear to be any warning conflicts in my settings. Any ideas? (Trying the forum video upload for the first time. Edit. Doesn’t work )

Back-up camera and sensors are working and the steering guide lines are visible on the camera screen?

Yep. Camera comes on just fine and the guide lines move with my wheel

You don't show what's behind your vehicle. I had this happen a couple of times when I was backing down a very steep driveway, and once when inside the garage with the garage door closed.

That’s fair but it’s literally any time I back up. At the store, at work, restaurant, home. It doesn’t matter

Sounds to me like there's a sensor blocked.

Put it in reverse in an open parking lot, then have someone else walk behind and see if the sensors work. If you move your hand closer and further away from each sensor you should get a corresponding response. The sensors are the little round circles in the bumper cover.

If you still have issues you might need an IPMA update or realignment.

I noticed this happened quite a few times this winter when cameras were obscured with dirt or snow, or haze. Check to ensure cameras are clean.

Yes, forgot to mention that, it is mostly camera-based so it needs a clear image to work. If you have a big plate cover or something blocking part of the image that could mess with it too. Shadows can also cause issues sometimes.

Definitely had a shadow or something make my car activate it a couple days ago, scared the crap out of me backing out

I appreciate the responses but I have to reiterate. It’s every single time. The sensors work and activate when they’re close to something while backing up. My car right now is spotless and it doesn’t matter if it’s night, day, crowded or empty parking lots, it’s every single time I back up since December

Well have you tried just not backing up? Then you won't have the problem anymore

At least your dealer won’t be able to say they can’t reproduce it.
