Dealer in stalled the software yesterday on my Job 1 RWD ER premium MME. Blue Cruise does work. Should the Power Up version have also update? I have chatted with the service advisor and tech. They say everything is current. Just wondering if the Power Up version should be 2.5.x? Thanks!

Power up numbers only apply to over the air updates. So if you install the software through another method (at the dealer) you will not see that reflected as a power up.

That being said, if you have blue cruise, then the software they installed is the equivalent of what comes with 2.5.2

Also quick question. When your dealer did the update, how long did it take you to get that app/email notice that blue Cruise was ready

Check out some of the later pages of this thread. Sounds like lots of people are bringing their cars in for the BC update and not getting all the updates. It’s not really the dealers fault either, the updates aren’t showing up as available in the system for the cars.

One way you can check if you are in that situation is to go look at the Sync version.

If it’s not this (rev: 364), then you’re not completely up to date and the dealer needs to do more, when Ford let’s them.

Didn't know about the difference between OTA and manual updates affecting power up version. I recently updated my car and noticed that a) the version still displayed 2.1.0, and b) received an email from Ford congratulating me on receiving Power Up version 2.3.x while the updates were installing. Of course, I now have no updates showing as pending, and still do not have BlueCruise. Not really chuffed about it, but have to wonder if their update process really is that picky (ref the TSB for dealers to install updates to enable BC). I freely admit I just went down the list and installed each in turn (something like 15 updates showed at the time).

Side note: if you're going to perform updates yourself, using a freshly imaged laptop is a good idea...as long as you've finished installing all of the required OS updates. Tends to create some rather messy results when the laptop reboots in the middle of a flash process... (ask me how I know this...)

Thanks for the replies!!!

I got the app notification instantly. I texted my service advisor. He told me not to modify as the tech was not done. I was home and the MME at the dealer.

Thank you for pointing this out! My Sync Version is rev 364. So I think I am all updated!

Do you know if future OTAs will be a problem since my MME is not ‘in sync’ since the Dealer did an update? I have been stuck at 2.1.0 for several months.

No it’s fine, it’s just the release notes that aren’t updated

Future OTAs won't be a problem. But if you get an OTA update for a module that has already been updated by the dealer, it will fail. Hopefully, Ford will change the verbiage on these to indicate that the update isn't needed, but at the moment, they just fail without an explanation.

Same here and all good with BC but since it wasn’t done via OTA the last update will show until something newer supersedes or it clears.

The past is never a guarantee for the future, but I used the dealer software to install 1.7.1 and then received 2.1.0 and 2.3.0 OTA
