Unsuccessful OTA after having TSB 22-2117…

Last week finally had the TSB 22-2117 fix completed. Told by dealership everything updated. Car shows all the signs of getting past the 1.7.1 stuck status (new apps, new notifications, able to toggle auto update, etc…).

Over the past two days, I have received two errors that Power-Up 2.4.2 was attempted but failed to update.

Hope this doesn’t mean my car is still not able to receive OTA’s. I was also supposed to have had the BC software loaded by dealership (I am EA and received notification email regarding my eligability), but car does not have BC, and connected services does not list BC option. Ford rep, after multiple emails back and forth, now tells me “No blue cruise is available at this time”. Wow, Ford really needs to get their S@&$ together.

You must be in early access. 2.4.2 seems to give a lot of people trouble. Is it saying it failed, but in the car you can hit the button to try again?

In the car, no option to “update now”…it states “software is up-to-date”.

I am in Early access, enrolled since August 2021. It shows I am ”enrolled” in BluesCruise but product is “not active”. On ford.com/connected services, only shows Maps and Blue Oval charge network. Until today no mention of BC, but today it now shows “Bluescruise Coming Soon”.

It's possible that your dealer already updated the modules that are included in 2.4.2. If that's the case, it's completely normal for the OTA to fail. Hopefully, Ford will change the message some day to something like "Update not needed" instead of a big Fail. But that day is not today.

And this is the response I just received from Ford Customer Service specialist who has been assisting me with getting the recalls and TSBs completed…

“No Mustang Mach-e had blue cruise activated and working. There will be an OTA update sometimes this month that will allow access to the blue cruise feature.”

Hmmm….I guess all those folks posting about their BC experience on this forum are confused? Responses like this from Ford does not exactly instill confidence in their customer support.

This is why I insisted this week when I dropped the car and told the dealer that I wanted BlueCruise (despite it being more work for them) to be installed and I wasn't going to take a chance to hope for the OTA to work...

Good luck, I told my dealership the same, and of course they insisted they installed BC when I picked it up…

For all I’ve read and my own personal experience the OTA process worked really well for me. 7 updates over 2 weekends and I now have Blue Cruise fully functional.

I'm still stuck in 1.7.1 hell. I am going to wait for the people in the UK to get 1.7.1 and I will then call the dealer to say I haven't had it at all and it's not working.

well I am happy for you my dude but my car hasn't received a single update since November 2021 so I am not gonna trust it again

Sounds like your car maybe one of the ones where it’s stuck and can’t receive OTAs. I know the dealers have a process to resolve this. I hope yours get corrected soon. Good luck.
