Oh my....

Let's hope Ford improves its service. This did actually make me laugh though. The tow truck is en route now.
Be careful.
There is a procedure to put the car into tow mode but you likely won't be able to do that since the LVB is dead. If the tow driver drags the car up onto the flat bed then it's highly likely your car will be damaged. Especially if he hooks onto the battery rails instead of the actual tow points at the front of the vehicle.

It is FAR better to get the 12v battery charged and/or jump started so the modules all power up. Then you can open the door and put the car into tow mode.

Yes, I know about the tow procedure, thanks for the warning.

Tow driver came and jumped the 12V battery. Opened doors, turned car on, and it seems...fine. No warnings.

I am just plain bewildered. I *SERIOUSLY* doubt I left any accessory-type stuff running after turning the car off yesterday. (Doesn't the car turn things off automatically anyway?) I was in the house for maybe 90 minutes before going back out to a mostly-dead car.

I'm happy this isn't a catastrophe (!!) but what the heck was this and how can I prevent it from happening again?

A glitch. Sometimes the car fails to maintain the 12v battery as it should. For me, this happened during one of the first OTAs that my car received. I suspect the 12v battery was run down due to the OTA and when I got in the next morning it powered up and I was on my way but less than a mile later I was pulled over the side of the road with Stop Safely Now and all sorts of other messages. I found a safe place to park and shut down the car. Restarted a few times and those errors were still present so I just powered down.

About 5 minutes later I remembered there was a tow mode so I powered the car back on and it was totally fine. ????
So, I cancelled the tow and then drove straight over to the dealership. They checked out the car and ran a systems check and declared everything was fine. That was quite a while ago and never a repeat issue since.

I am just as baffled as you. With luck, your car will be fine but you can certainly take it over the dealer so they can check. It will be easy for them to see if your HVB is charging the LVB now.

OP has a slew of of low 12V battery codes, along with P1A10 in the SOBDMC which is inconclusive. That code with a low battery is mentioned in TSB 22-2178 for HVBJB replacement, but IMO it could also be because of low system voltage causing a loss of communications. Still somewhat of a mystery why the 12V went dead, the battery itself may have gone bad or because of some other glitch? This is a 2020 build car with a lot of original software. Recall software was installed OTA fortunately.

Advise fully charge and test 12V battery, replace if necessary, clear all codes, and reevaluate concerns. Recommend OBCC update to decrease DC charging issues, and BCM/GFM update to address potential battery drain concerns.

That is super helpful, Lee. I really appreciate you taking the time. Will discuss with dealer.
