So after almost 4 months after purchase Thoedore Robins Ford says they didn't get the price protection rebate from ford. They said I must not qualify, even though order was placed 10/21 and no changes made to the order. Either Ford dropped the ball or the dealer is lying. They said to contact Ford.com and gave me the 800 number for Ford motor credit which is not helpful. Anyone have a better contact at Ford I can reach?

I can’t see it getting denied without Ford providing a reason. Tell them to show proof it was submitted and proof of the denial.

I would love to hear more about price protection. My car is due anyway and my dealer hasn’t mentioned it. It would be nice to go in armed with info when I pick up the car.

I've heard mixed stories about whether price protection is truly automatic and free of involvement from the dealer, or if the dealer has to submit paperwork. It's based on if they prove that the person who ordered it is the same as the person who ended up buying it. In theory it could be screwed up if the names didn't match. I don't know if Ford's system accounts for things like if the name on the order lacked a middle initial and the name picking up had one.

As for getting it resolved through Ford... good luck and let us know how it goes. My car is due any day now and my dealer said they knew nothing about this price protection, despite my showing them the notice that was sent to the dealerships in December 2021. In their minds, if it isn't in their system, then it's something we're not eligible for. But this price protection won't show up in the system, based on what I am hearing from others on this forum and the YouTube video posted by a guy from a Ford dealership. I called Ford, who told me to have the dealership call the regional representative for guidance. If my dealership is to be believed, they did call them, and were told that if it wasn't showing up as a selectable option, then I didn't qualify. I called Ford back and they had no idea about it. What can I do if Ford, themselves, are telling me they have no idea?

I get that Ford couldn't just ship the car out with the reduced MSRP printed, because there was no guarantee that it would be the same person who ordered and then ultimately bought it. But they have really chosen one of the worst ways to implement this thing.

Well that went as well as I expected. Got a bunch of random phone numbers to call to reps that can't do anything. Had one pissed off Ford rep that kept yelling at me "the dealer has to use their resources". Whatever the hell that means. Dealer blamed it on a change of the original order that I never made. I guess paying at a price that you put a deposit on is too hard for Ford to implement.

Did you ask for the proof from the dealer that was actually submitted and proof it was denied? This is something that will 100% be documented, not a phone call from Ford telling them it was denied. Just cut straight through the bs and say “show me.” No need for this ring around the Rosie.

Ford Resources is apparently some internal term that they use to refer to their regional representatives, or so I gather - they used that term with me before, too. I've sort of accepted that I'm not going to get that $2,000 adjustment. Originally I was pinning it purely on the dealer, but now I am blaming both Ford and the dealership. I think Ford tried to do a good thing here but they've botched the implementation so badly.

I didn't but they Ford rep said I should have received an email from Ford in January stating I had price protection. I did not so I assumed something went wrong. Did you get any email stating price protection with your order?

Not to side with Ford, but it all comes down to the DEALER not doing his/her job. Price protection is automatic if done properly and most dealers will try to get the lowest cost price on a vehicle so they make the most profit. If a dealer chooses the wrong option when enetering the sale in their system then they have to pay Ford the higher price and you lose out.
Now I have no interest in my local Ford delaership other than being friends with the sales manager which afforded me a small insight to the process and I was shown the difference in their final cost price resulting from NOT checking the proper boxes.

Now mind you I'm no expert on the matter, but I did stay at a Holiday inn last night ;)

The dealership I went through said it was a different form that the dealer needed to submit to Ford in order to get price that was quoted at the time I placed the order. I didn't receive any correspondence from Ford stating that my purchase was price protected but the dealer did retain a copy of the original order price. When my 2022 arrived, the dealer applied the $2000 credit to the purchase price, reducing the sales tax as well, because they were confident they'd receive the credit back from Ford. I realize this doesn't help your situation except to underscore that in order to get the original price, the dealership needs to do its part.

The dealers were notified about price protection by an e-mail. Copies can be found on other threads on the forum. The key here is PP is automatic but the dealer has to file the proof of sale to the original orderer. So, as already mentioned, have you checked with your dealer to ensure they performed this step? The PP payment is paid to the dealer on their monthly true-up with Ford and it is not a stand alone transaction. Takes at least 45 days and sometimes longer for the dealer to receive it. So two steps as I see it for you right now. 1 - verify they submitted the correct documentation to confirm original orderer purchased the vehicle. 2 - need to review their true-up with Ford to see if they received the funds (that will be the hard part as I am not sure they would or would not share the information). My wife is the Office Manager at our local Ford dealer so I know this is how it works.

The dealer pays the current price and then receives the PP difference in approximately 45 days. But you are right that they have to check the right boxes regarding the sale.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Help! Dealer says they didn't get Price Protection rebate from Ford 6F2385B8-5D65-4BBE-AC0F-3EF16E63738B

Hopefully this will help you like it did for me. The sales manager had to talk to the inventory manager (person that places the orders) to confirm price protection really was a thing, and he pulled it up in the dealer system.
