Where in MN are you? I'll be picking up my Vapor Blue in Eden Prairie on Tuesday afternoon.
Nice! I'm in the metro. What dealer did you use? I ordered through Freeway Ford. They had no idea what the Ford Options plan was—also their service is OK, not great. Same thing for Apple Ford in Apple Valley—decent service. If you're using Ford Options make sure to call ahead and make sure your dealer is aware.

I went with Metropolitan Ford, not really sure why though since Freeway Ford is darn near down the road from me! I actually need to look into Ford Options...haven't really thought about it yet.

Yes it does! I can't wait to see yours. Ugh, I almost got the night pony option but stuck with standard PE wheels. Hmm, I see your point about blacked out wheels and matte but I may still be tempted to do it (you can always upgrade wheels later ;) lol). When do you think you will get this done? I ask because I may wait to get the clear PPF done until after I see yours. Of course I am still about a month away from getting my actual car.

Sorry, I squeezed in between you and @gryphon.

My car's Infinite Blue, no wrap, and is almost two years old. ;)

I have an appointment with my detailer to drop off my car right from the dealership. Of course, my actual delivery date could cause some delays if my detailer has to start shifting my appointment. My current ETA is 12/11-17, but since my car is stuck in the KC morass, I have no idea if that ETA will hold.

If you haven't checked it out, this thread documents an Xpel Stealth application on a Cyber Orange GTPE:

(1) For those who have done PPF, what do you wish you had done beforehand? | Page 2 | MachEforum - Ford Mustang Mach-E Forum, News, Owners, Discussions

And here's the link to the detailer that did the work, and also the one I am using:

Final Touch (@ftdetail_bayarea) • Instagram photos and videos

In the job they did on that GTPE, and based on others that they have done, they recommend the Stealth wrap on the painted surfaces and a clear, glossy wrap on the black trim pieces. So that's my plan as well.

I don't want to thread creep too badly on this topic, here's a thread on the issue in general if we want to keep discussing:

Wow, if those are current pictures, then well done on keeping your car in such great shape! Doubt I would have that luck on the crap CA roads where I live. I feel any kind of wrap is almost a necessity to keep your car relatively chip free.

Yeah, these two colors are very similar. Everyone sees colors a little bit differently, but I see maybe just a bit more grey in the Vapor Blue? I like them both.

No, those pictures are old. ? But the car still looks pretty great. Some small rock chips, especially in the windshield.

To me, Vapor Blue has slightly more white mixed in, slightly less silver. Really hard to gauge from online photos though.

More for the effect and hoping that the color still retains its chameleon character. I’m sure the wrap will affect it some. But my wife and son love the matte look so there you go.
Should look great, I’ll be very interested in seeing it. To me it makes a car look anodized.

Great info. I read all your links and will be eagerly looking forward to your pics. Right now, they have me with an ETA of around Jan 1st, which really sucks for tax credit reasons but I am still excited to acquire. I think by the time mine arrives, you should be getting yours back!

I keep hearing all of these things about a "wrap." I am hoping to not spend a lot of after-market money to protect my paint, but is there something that I really SHOULD do? Is there at-home care I can do? Did I read about a wax that has a ceramic treatment in it or something? I thought these things were only for matte paints. Please pardon my ignorance :p

My strategy is to periodically rinse and shampoo.

Daily for myself (sometimes more!) and once every month or two for Sall-E.

No wraps etc.

This topic will surely result in at least a page of thread creep and there's an entire section of this forum dedicated to such topics:

Cosmetic Maintenance & Protection (Wash, Wax, Detail, Body Repairs) | MachEforum - Ford Mustang Mach-E Forum, News, Owners, Discussions

I recommend reading some of the threads in that section that reference "PPF" or "ceramic" treatments. Here's a thread that points to some videos that explain the basics:
