Never mind I figured it out. I'm an idiot. I keep my fob in a faraday cage and leave it in the car for emergencies/valet and use the PaaK. But I guess when I had it out last time for valet I didn't properly close the cage and it wasn't properly blocking off the signal from the fob. Sorry, nothing to see here! ?

Thank you for mentioning this. I took out the fob from my faraday pouch a couple of days ago to setup PaaK on a new phone and I just noticed the car wasn't automatically locking after walking away. I checked my faraday pouch and indeed I didn't have the fob properly tucked into it. You saved me a lot of diagnosis time!

I don't know why it took me a couple of days to realize the car wasn't locking. I should pay more attention.

Walk away lock is still not working for me. Well maybe 5%-10% of the time and when it does work it is much farther away from the car than it used to be. I feel like to improve PAAK they made it more sensitive to bluetooth so now you have to be really far away before it locks - and often it doesn't at all.

Still hit or miss for me. Works about 25% of the time. Didn't work at all for the past several days; worked perfectly this morning.

I've just given up and gotten into the habit of locking the car using the little lock icon on the B pillar when I get out.

I wonder if this is related to the malfunctioning of the departure time scheduling I've been experiencing. Both seem to have stopped working reliably if at all after an OTA that installed a number of weeks ago.

Noticed the same issue after recent OTAs. Walk away lock now works with probably 50% success rate.
I am not using PaaK (removed it due to the car constantly unlocking/locking any time I am passing a room close to garage/driveway).
Once I saw a message on the dashboard display that the fob is not detected while the fob was in my pocket inside the car.
Went through all troubleshooting, I could imagine- replaced the fob battery (though, the car is only a couple of months old and the battery should have lasted much longer), flipped the walk away lock setting to off/on, but haven’t seen much improvement so far. Considering stopping by a dealership and asking to replace the fob. Did anyone try to replace it?

There’s no such a feature unlocking/locking because you are nearby. It’s welcome lighting feature, just turn it off.
If you saw key not detected only once I think it was just a glitch. Dealer wont help you.

So you thinking you need to go further away, or it takes longer, just means it's not Walk-Away lock, but Timed-Out lock.

Now according to the manual there is a 2.5 minute delay before the auto-lock occurs. This did not used to be the case, as mine used to lock as soon as I got about 20 feet away.

To me, this delay completely changes the use case for walk away lock from a convenience feature that eliminates the need to manually lock to just a safety measure in case you forgot to lock your car. No one is going to wait around for 2.5 minutes to see if the car successfully locks. I don’t even get the phone alert anymore when it does auto lock.

What bothers me is the inconsistency of operation. Sometimes it works when I walk away, sometimes after a delay.

I've just taken to locking the car myself.
