Has anybody else had this problem?

Today, I tried to charge my Mach-e at no less than six different chargers. Three failed to recognize the car entirely. One gave me about 20 miles of range then abruptly stopped and gave me an error message. Two others added 1-2% range, then flashed error messages and disconnected. And these were from 4 different companies (but all DC fast chargers).

Now, I’m stranded 100 miles from home waiting for a dealer to open.

My car chargers fine at home. I did have faulty wire in my charging system that was bypassed by the dealer with the help of Fords engineers.

Another problem that may be related is that, when charging, my Fordpass app rarely provides correct information in real time. Right now, for example, the data out shows is from four hours ago. And many of my drives and charges never show up in the log. ??‍♂

Sounds like you need the OBCC update (DCFC control module). Tell the dealer to perform TSB 22-2496 which just came out today.

Also remember if you get a DCFC error you need to turn the car completely off to reset it, otherwise it will fail on the next charger you try too.

Hello! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this charging concern for you? Thank you!

Thanks! I’ll see if they can give that a try.

One tip with the FordPass app, in case you didn't know: pull down from the top of the screen to refresh. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries to get it to refresh.

Unfortunately, I just checked and my car was built after the date range for this update (late September).

I have found that FP refresh works best if you send a 'door lock' request first to establish communication, and THEN pull down to refresh. This only works of course when the vehicle is in range of and connected to some wifi network.

....and what is the easiest way to 'turn car completely off'? pull the HV disconnect tab (under the driver's side frunk panel) for a minute or so?

No, just press the button to shut off the ignition and open a front door.

ahhhhhh, ok, I wasn't sure if it took a complete HV disconnect/reconnect or not.

UPDATE: Tried an AC charger at my hotel this morning, and it worked. So, I found a DC50 and tried that, and it worked. So, I went back to the last DC150 I had tried the night before and it worked just fine. I'm stumped – don't know if my car is just finicky or what.
