Tesla Chargers Going in at Wawas with “15 Minute General Parking” signs?

Wawa is apparently putting in Tesla chargers (their main competitor - Sheetz - has been installing 350 KWH CCS chargers). But what I don’t get is the “15 minute general parking” sign?

Seems clear. Wawa is saying they won't give up the spaces - so ANYONE can park there for 15 minutes, even if not charging. A Google search verifies that, and that Wawa has been putting these in for many years, and announced even more in 2019.

It means that the spots are not reserved for charging. They can be used as general parking, but only for 15 minutes. The couple of Superchargers near me are the same.

Wawa is actually named for the site of the company's first milk plant, in Wawa, PA. The name of the town comes from the Ojibwe word wewe (pronounced "way-way") meaning snow goose, despite the company's image of a Canada goose. The Objibwe tribe is from Canada. I know this because I worked within a short distance of that milk plant.

Sheetz is named for the family that founded it.

Kum and Go is a play on the phrase "come and go", using the initials of the founders - Krause and Gentle. Of course they likely didn't realize the unintended meaning back in 1975, or did they...

I did not know that. These are the first ones I’ve seen going in at a Wawa. Not that I care really. There’s an EA DCFC at the mall 3 miles from my house. I wouldn’t use that either unless my home charger broke.

I’m not sure Wawas have gone north of NYS yet. They have focused on their south and west expansion.
