I received an email back from Ford today (Feb 16th) responding to my earlier question about how the price cuts were to be handled for those who took delivery after Jan 1st. We took delivery of ours Jan 27th.

This is text of the ford reply:

"We expect to publish details on a customer satisfaction program in the next week. Please stay tuned."

My situation might be unique but I would like to seek compensation from Ford in case they feel generous. My order was for a 2022 GT in April 2022. My vehicle sat in various rail yards beginning in early November. I finally took delivery on 2/7/23. I ended up paying $1,400 more for my 2022 than a 2023 with the same options, etc. is going for now.

What is the best phone number, email, snail mail address or whatever method for me to use to make my case? I don’t know where to start.

Thanks.

If Ford isn't going to give 2023 model years buyers that bought in 2022 anything, why would they give you anything? You got the opportunity to use April 2022 incentives and loan rates.

No price cuts for the U.K. and I think Europe.

Spot on!

@KwhPony if I had my April '22 order delivered in February '23, I'd be happier but mine got converted to '23 and still stuck in a Mexican rail yard since December.

If I got a '22, I would LOVE it: very low APR (2.49%), Options incentive ($2500), '22 pricing, lower overall cost (Select w/ C-T options) and I'd have it already.

Instead, my '23 converted order is getting: 4.49% APR and $2000 incentive and had to upgrade to Premium trim.

Let's switch!

If you are unhappy with what you were forced into by the conversion you don't have to purchase it.
I totally get someone being unhappy that they ordered in 22 and were converted to different spec 23 and still don't have their vehicle. And I also understand why people might be happy/unhappy for other reasons. One person's issues with the order/delivery process does not negate the other's.

You both have really good points. I think anyone that paid more for the same vehicle than the new prices should get some compensation. And, yes, there is really no reason Ford should want to do that except in the limited fashion they are pondering.

I don’t believe there were any incentives or financing deals available to me when I ordered. I didn’t need to use Ford financing in any event.

Having a 22 rolled to 23 and still waiting is just crazy and I feel for you. I was just asking for advice on where or how to initiate an inquiry with Ford. I would include a plea for compensation for all buyers that have stayed the course and accepted delivery on these ancient orders. The case for me may be quite weak but I would advocate for all of us.

I just need help getting started with a correspondence to Ford. Anyone know a good entry point?

The fact that you took delivery after the price cuts being news makes your case extremely weak

Thanks for that sentiment and reminder. There are so many order and delivery stories out there I’m not going to judge which is the worst when there’s so many bad ones.

My frustration is from enduring an awful build and delivery experience. Then ending up with the previous model year vehicle and paying $1,400 more than the same exact 2023 year model would be.

I suppose I could have ordered a 2023 and not accepted the 2022 to save a modest amount. But I’m not interested in putting myself through even more agony.

I’m small potatoes compared to many others caught in the middle of this nonsense. But I have no problem advocating on behalf of anyone going out of pocket for more than current 2023 prices.

I totally agree.

I knew the MSRP I got in April 22 and agreed to it. My television model is less money now compared to what I paid and I don’t expect Samsung to pony (pun intended) up compensation to me. So I get it.

It’s a tough decision. When the dealer calls you to come in and pick up your car, after such a long wait. It’s difficult not to go through with the transaction. And the economics for me are much less negative than for many others.

I just want to give my opinion to Ford on behalf of any similarly situated buyer. I think more push to them can’t hurt. If no one speaks up that’s not a good thing.

Similar to this group that got their '23 in 2022 (very lucky tax credit group):
