Lane centering does not adapt to my driving habits

If you signal before trying to change lanes it stops trying to fight you.

I have 3 spots on a section of the 101 that BC kicks out every single time, for about 5 seconds. Just long enough to be annoying. No cars around or fully packed it kicks out within feet of my visual markers I use to know when it's going down. I basically drive with my hand on the wheel anyway so I don't need to realize it's kicking in and out of HF. I also noticed if you're in the right lane and it drives past an off ramp, HF is gone as well. Pretty sure this one is going on the back burner of subscriptions I bother renewing.

When I got my car in November '21 one of the first things I did was to disable lane centering because it was really annoying in my previous Mazda CX-5. I decided to give lane centering a chance just lately and apparently only after the learning feature was removed from my MME. Oh well...

The main reason why I don't like literal lane centering is that here in Finland most people use studded winter tires and the center of the lane is always more or less rutted. Driving in the tire grooves increases tire noise and tire wear. I like to keep right on the right lane and left on the left lane to avoid grooves and to maximize my distance from vehicles on the other lane.

Yep. A different reason but result is the same. Our lanes get worn out in areas and the wheel paths are rutted and rough. It is sometimes a much smoother ride to be off to one side or another. It was a pretty neat feature while it worked.

I'd like a way to turn off lane keep assist alerts. An annoying bouncing steering wheel is what I have because they just add lanes here so 1 lane roads become 5 over time and the lines are all over the place. Drives my car nuts.

There is a button on the steering wheel to deactivate the lane keeping assist feature. Is that the "alerts" you are talking about? (those lines on either side of the car....)

Has anyone actually followed behind an MME when lane centering is in use and verified that it has a bias towards the right side? With us sitting on the left of the car, we have a distorted view and it is hard to determine by how much the car is favoring the right side of the lane.

I had my wife look for me once and she said it was pretty well dead center, and I definitely felt right-justified.

To ”prove” it to myself, I quickly moved my upper body and head so I was looking straight over the big screen and I lined-up the center sun sensor on the dash with the middle of my view. I’ll be damned if it didn’t look like the screen, sun sensor, and middle of the lane were all aligned. You can do this for about five seconds before the eye nanny starts barking at you, but it was pretty telling. Looked dead bang.

Yeah kill the damn alert. turning into my neighbor hood I get 2 alerts. Getting off or on the freeway every time as well. No road is straight here. Drunkards paint the lines while doing doughnuts from the looks of it.

Okay. Left side of steering wheel. Lower right button. Press once and it turns that system off.
Be advised neither version of Blue Cruise will activate until you turn it back on though.
