The info some of these people were given did not come from CSP's it came from sources that actually know. There were no attempted OTAs delivery nor are any scheduled for delivery in the near future.
That's concerning if they believe a vehicle is up to date simply because the server isn't offering any software. There are so many glitches with versions and prerequisites right now, you literally can't trust the servers to be factual. There could be many reasons why the server isn't offering software, including version mismatch, software corruption, database corruption, update on hold, and last, vehicle actually up to date. In my case, a serial number got messed up in the server's database entry for my car, which prevented an update from showing up for me due to a mismatch. Multiple network scans didn't correct it, but it magically fixed itself weeks later and I was able get updates to show. I tried to contact Ford about this but nobody cares and they just have no clue.

But they also could tell that they don’t have any issue receiving OTA’s and aren’t stuck? I thought everyone that was stuck wasn’t getting OTAs period, no attempt, scheduled, etc. it was basically the scenario you’re describing, Ford’s servers essentially didn’t see the car as one that needed an update.
Exactly, my CSP was like "oh I see your car hasn't been getting any OTAs", so they look into it. I while later I get an email from a higher-up rep that concluded it's because "there are no updates released for your car yet" which was totally wrong. No, your damn GIVIS database was wrong so that's why I didn't get any updates. Ford had no way for me to contact anybody knowledgable about fixing their database entries for my car. They will just tell me the update wasn't ready for my vehicle yet all day long and I'd be waiting forever for an update that will never come.

Similar issue here. My 21 Prem last update was Oct 22 (3.5.4.2). Apparently there was an attempt of an OTA in Nov 22 (never received a notice, but server apparently shows that). I’ve had the car into dealership, who said all the modules and TSMs are UTD. After multiple calls to the OTA hotline, where they supposedly can force an OTA out, still no update and now they say that “No updates are showing up for my VIN, and they don’t understand why”.

Back to the dealership Tuesday, who are supposed to work with TAC to resolve. I’m very close to selling this car, especially if these issues won’t be covered after warranty.

These cars don’t fit the mold got stuck update vehicles. None have ever failed an update for any reason and the ones I’m aware of are slated to receive updates — just not real soon.

Regardless of when they finally do update 21 & 22 model years, if it isn’t at the same time they update 23 model year vehicles, I will not be subscribing. I won’t pay to be a second class citizen. If they can OTA it, there is no legitimate reason to not send it to all eligible cars. If they want my money they need to treat me the same as they are treating other people.

I don't know why (other than greed) that Ford won't let us keep Bluecruise on the roads that are already mapped. We've already paid for those maps afterall.

"BlueCruise 1.2 OTA rollout starting AT THE END OF THE YEAR" ?

The 1.2 software was finished last fall for 2023 vehicles. Seriously it takes a YEAR to release finished software at Ford? I was expecting 6 months or less.
You are FAR more generous than I am. If the software is done, the rollout should be over a couple weeks, one month TOPS.

The 2023s already have it. Therefore, I guess you are a second class citizen...

That is why I am very unlikely to pay for the subscription.
Your expectations seem unreasonable. They put features into new cars. Then, they work on incorporating those features into existing cars, which have totally different software on them. So, they upgraded us to the new UI, and now have sent two updates after that. They stopped all BlueCruise updates at dealers (I suspect to level set for giving us 1.2).

If we get it by say end of April, to me that's great. If it takes until end of June, that's ok, but slow. Past that is too long.

Wasn’t the whole point of OTA the ability to update vehicles without requiring them to come in to the dealership? There is no reason, given this capability, for there being such huge variations in software installation levels. They (Ford) have created this chaos of differing software, and they have the ability to make it go away in a quick, orderly fashion if they choose to do so.

All I know is that there are orders of magnitude more iPhone owners out there, and no one is forced to wait months to get updated operating system software the way we are being required to. Yes, a bricked car is orders of magnitude more annoying than a bricked phone, but thats why I’m willing to give them a couple weeks to a month to complete a rollout. I was one of the first job 1 cars to get BlueCruise, and here we are almost exactly one whole year later, and there are job 1 cars that still haven’t received it. That is unspeakably unacceptable.

Nope. Just saying some folks aren’t even up to BlueCruise yet despite being able to receive OTA updates. Others are still stuck and currently can’t get unstuck by their dealers. In addition, there are Early Access participants who haven’t received the new UI yet and have been told they’re no slated for an update in the near future. Why? No idea. But it would appear the MME is diverging from a common platform, not converging on one.
I’m surprised that they are holding up on deploying to some EA members. I wonder why they’re doing that.

All you do is complain about your car yet you won't get it fixed. You say you never get OTA updates, have to reset your screen a billion times a second, etc. Just sell it already. You clearly shouldn't own a car since you expect cars to never need to go in for service. You bought a brand new model vehicle LOL. Holy freaking cow.
U mad bro?

Well, to a mostly uninformed outsider like me, it appears that the 4.2.x series of updates was a reissuance of 4.1.x designed to fix some sort of flaw or bug in the 4.1.x updates. That could very well mean they stopped rolling out 4.1.x, at least temporarily, and these EA members were left standing in the wings. Just mostly my speculation though.

IoT updates are not simple as many people think. It took years for Tesla to established current process, do not expect from Ford to achieve same overnight. We know that Ford in the middle of the changing their Software Development process. I know that they have ultimate goal to stop using 3rd party devices, aka laptops, for software upgrades for the cars, but it would take more time than many of us would like to. BC is a regular subscription service as many of us have this days and its personal choice for every user to subscribe or not to it when time come - at least (starting ‘23) MME contains all hardware to support it.

I think we all need patience with Ford right now since we are early adopters and it would be some hiccups down the road until Ford completes transformation to more software integrated company.

Here's the difference: if your iPhone crashes or behaves badly it does not potentially become a 5000 pound wrecking ball moving at 75 miles an hour. Not being able to watch tiktoc videos has a lot fewer consequences than swerving all over a busy highway.

In reality BC is damn fine software for what it has to do, but Ford has learned over 120 years that caution is the better part of valor. There's a reason they have a plethora of lawyers.
