@CurtW I'm moving our discussion out of that other thread into here.

I would love to own the Honda Goldwing Valkyrie and would have bought one if there were any available when I was shopping for my most recent bike purchase.

I'd really enjoy a full bagger EV.

I'd also really love a Yamaha Stryker styled EV.

I just loved the Zero SR when I test-rode one several years ago. A propos of nothin' at all ;)

That sounds like a good way to get myself into trouble. I'm too old for that kind of fun.

Yep HAHAHA

We were a mixed group of about 12 at the dealership. We ALL came out of our helmets with childish grins and started babbling excitedly at the end of the group test ride.

Kawasaki announced that it plans to make both an EV and hybrid Ninja-styled (if not named--not sure) bike in '24.

Ok, a different experience, but I loved my Honda bikes: a mid 70s Honda Hawk 400, then an 80s Honda Night Hawk 700. Trouble free, great for local transport and several cross-country rides, at least solo. (Metzler tires were amazing.) Kept riding until 1990 when the wife and I both sold our bikes as we had our first child. Of course we kept our two seater Mazdas (turbo RX-7 and Miata) until our second child came along! Great memories.

I stopped riding when our child was born.
When they graduated from high school, I got a bike again. I don't ride nearly as much nor as aggressively as I used to, but it's nice to be back on two wheels again. My partner would love to have a convertible, but isn't interested in the bike. If I could get a Mazda Miata EV or if I had the time to properly convert a Karmann Ghia (or a MGB, or...) into an EV, I'd consider giving up on biking altogether.

I still ride my 1995 BMW K75.
That's a sweet bike!

I have always marveled at BMW's engineering ability to build an inline, multi-cylinder, horizontal motor that doesn't completely throw off the balance of the bike!

My story is similar. Traded the V-max around '90, didn't ride again until the kids were grown. That's a lot of years to wait if you love riding like I do. Wife never touched the bike when we were younger, but took a ride a few years back and was instantly hooked, so my days riding solo ended abruptly!

I'd enjoy testing a Zero or maybe another electric. Yet to see 'em round here.

Getting old enough I know I'll quit riding soon enough, traffic just gets crazier, and my skills sliding a bit. Pretty sure I'm done dragging pegs, no more burnouts. Not sure what will replace it. We talk about maybe getting back into water toys for a sumner or two.

I haven't even found a way to reserve a test ride in a place I'm going to be visiting, though I haven't tried all that hard.

We're doing a lot of camping and traveling during times we couldn't go before. It's nice not to be tied to the school year.

I thought about a private pilot's license, but the time and expense doesn't seem worth it and my wife doesn't enjoy small planes.

So... Lots of camping, some traveling, some motorcycle road trips with a buddy, lots of hiking and paddle boarding and the like.

There's always something new to try out...

I live an hour from an Energica dealership and have been meaning to test ride their Experia. It has DC Fast Charge capability.

We spend about half the summer on the lake. Fishing, boating, kayaking. Hiking. I can work from anywhere I have a good signal, so converted garage in our toy hauler into office space. Had jet skis when we were younger, thinking about trying that again.

I thought about a private pilot's license,...
Sounds like fun! But figured you'd be more into flying to the moon. NASA is putting a team together for that, so I hear.
