This has been going on for months, we have Android phones and when we initiate a call via Android Auto, people can hear us, but we can't hear them. Of course the volume is turned up. The person either calls us back and we can both hear, OR we initiate a call via the steering wheel voice button. We've gone through 2 updates, I've reset Ford Sync, removed / reinstalled Android auto on my phone, removed myself as a user on the car and readded...same.

Thoughts?

Searched the forums yesterday and didn't see any other similar posts.

Thank you in advance,

Mike

Happens to us everytime, the first call does not go through, you have to try again. This started in January for us, my wife and I both have Pixel 6as.

Have had this issue if I make the mistake of initiating, or answering, a call suing the phone, instead of using the car's touchscreen. Not sure why it should matter, it was never a problem in my other cars when they were connected to my phone.

we only use the car to imitate the call, typically voice command and this happens, either asking Alexa or Ford to make the call.

Happens 98% of the time for me (Samsung Z Flip 3). I usually unplug the phone before answering so it goes over blue tooth, but I can't do that now that the AA wireless connection doesn't make the phone run a Chernobyl simulation.

Same for me with Pixel 7 Pro. First time calling someone is usually a 90% failure. They hear me but I cannot hear them. I hang up and call back and it works. Very frustrating.
This has been going on for at least 1-2 months.
As of a week or 2 Android Auto Wireless has been more miss than hit, but that for another thread.

There's another thread about this. I have the same issue - it's intermittent, not every call. Sometimes inbound sometimes outbound. I don't use Android Auto. It doesn't seem to matter if I place the call using the touchscreen, phone or voice activated. Having the phone on the wireless charging pad seems to help sometimes. Ford needs to look into this since a lot of reports of this issue.

Happens on my iPhone 13 as well. Car tries to initially Bluetooth the audio, and I don't hear anything, (but other party hears me) so I have to put the call on phone speaker...and then some indeterminate time later it switches the call back to car's Bluetooth and I continue the conversation until hangup.

For those who are in a hands-free cell phone state, or country, this is a safety issue.

I've got something else going on on top of this - when it does connect, the sound always goes to my hearing aids and never comes through the car itself. It's so annoying.

Same issue here. Been like that for 3-4 months. The work around is to press the hands free toggle button on the screen and then immediately reconnect back to hands free. Do this when the phone is ringing (if making b outbound call) or immediately after answering an inbound call.

Not ideal but that has been working for me these past 3-4 months.

The tricks Android users come up with. This is a relatively mild one. At least there is no "developer settings" changes. ? I will give this a try, thanks.

It seemed to start after a recent update in my '21 MME Premium. It seemed that if I try to call back after a text from someone then I can't hear them, but they hear me. So I make a new call and the issue is fixed. For the record, I have an S22 Ultra.
