How to reduce the amount of time headlights stay on after turning off and getting out of the car?

Hi,

When I turn off and leave my car, the front lights stay on for over 8 minutes. I've actually won 2 beers with friends who bet me that I "left them on" and when they went back and checked, they were off. On the night of the picture (back in Jan or Feb, I think), I was parked just outside the window where we were sitting and my friend timed it - they stayed on over 8 minutes. Since this picture was taken, I tried changing to "10 seconds" (with no impact) and "Off" (again, with no impact). Maybe this isn't the correct menu option? What am I doing wrong?

PS - I'm not worried about it, just find it odd.

2022 Mustang Mach-E Premium. Little over 3,000 miles.

When you turn off car, before you exit vehicle pull the indicator lever towards you as if you are flashing your headlights. This will, or should, (it does on mine in the UK) turn off your headlights immeadiatly
