Fitcamx + Dongar powered Radar?

I'm researching dashcam options for my Mach E, and would potentially like to add a radar detector as well.

The Fitcamx looks like the easiest install for a dashcam and is reasonably priced. I've read through the fit cons, and I think I can live with that. I see it is powered through the rain sensor module. Is it possible to also use a Dongar adapter w/ the mirror and power a radar detector as well?

I have seen the DIY tutorial to hardwire both. I'm just not sure I'm up for that. I've done a lot of DIY type stuff with vehicles but I'm less ambitious on a new car. Dongar + Fitcamx both look like pretty simple methods, though I'm not sure if using both is doable.

I don't see why not, though I don't think I've seen anyone try it. As long as the mirror and rain sensor are on different fuses, they shouldn't have anything to do with each other.

The rearview mirror appears to be on its own fuse. I'd want to verify that (just pull the fuse and see if the camera powers up) before plugging two sources in.

Yeah that makes sense, and that appears to be the case (though I haven't tested it).

I held off on the radar, and just did the fitcamx.
