My OTA updates have worked fine in the past. Starting on May 24 and as recently as this morning, June 2nd, 22S41 and 22S29 have failed. Yesterday, June 1st, I took our 2021 Premium AWD Extended to the dealer to have them do the updates. When they finished, they said they had 9 updates that they did and none of them were the 22S41 or 22S29. Further the service manager showed me the screen for our MME that it did not show that we needed the two updates. The updates they reported doing were, BECM, SOBDMC, SOBDMB, CMR, PSCM, GFM, SOBDM, PCM, AND ABS. This morning, I again received, for the 11th day in a row the message in Ford Pass, "HELP US INSTALL YOUR NEW FORD POWER-UP". We also receive, on the screen, most restarts, a reminder that say "SOFTWARE UPDATE REMINDER", and the option to update now or have it done during the normal time. Once we received a message on the screen that "Vehicle not Updated" Update was canceled because "it was interrupted by another process."
While this is going on we also have "12 Volt Battery Fault, Service Soon" sometimes appear briefly on the dash screen. but it quickly goes away. This has been going on for quite some time. The dealership has checked it out in the past and did put in a new 12-volt battery. The problem continued. Now in addition to getting the on-screen warning from time to time, we started occasionally getting messages in Ford Pass, "Plug in to Maintain 12 Volt Battery..." While at the dealership, they checked the battery and could find no problems.
Not sure if these two issues are related, but they might be as I understand that if the 12-volt batter is low, or perhaps a warning generated by a computer bug, the updates might fail. Of course, that does not explain the inability of the dealership to do the 22S41 and 22S29 nor find that we need them. Did I mention this morning, after visiting the dealership yesterday, according to the big touchscreen, still needs the updates and according to Ford Pass messages, the battery is still has an issue and it still wants my help to do the updates? And how is it that we "needed" the 9 updates and have not received notice to go to the dealer or OTA notices? Images attached, except for the dash screen, it goes away to quickly and appears to infrequently to capture.
